Our bats never show up. Well, we got the 8 runs against Mizzou on Saturday. That's as close to an offensive explosion as you will see from us.

In a tie game in the top of the 9th 2 outs already you have to play for a run; you can't afford the luxury of playing for an insurance run. If you can't hold them to 0 in the B9 then that's on the pitcher. If the pitcher gives up a run in the B9, youd still go to the T10, where Jordan would hit that homer you speak of and give us another chance to close it out.
You play to score Mershon. WIth 2 outs, you have to have him on 2nd
You pitch Pico game 1, Dohm game 2, and you tell Stephen we need 3 innings on Monday and double barrel it with Auger. Our pitching is not as dire as one would think and everyone else, including UVA, is out of pitching. Their bullets are gone.
We are not in an advantageous position, but we are not dead in the water either.
We had men on base in the top of the inning. That’s where the game was lost. Good teams put their foot on the neck and finish them.
Dohm's not starting anymore this season. That much we know. Auger would need to start tomorrow night vs UVA if we get by St. John's. Beating St. John's with our bullpen is the best chance to win the regional. Most coaches don't have the balls to do that though.
We chose to keep Lemonis when that fat 17 doesn't recruit or develop. We'll throw Pico, Cheatham, Black tomorrow and might win if we're lucky. Then if we do, we'll get killed by a Scott Kilne umpiring crew like we have twice this year already whether we hit or not (we won't). Then Lemonis gets an extension and we win 25 next year and are back to a buyout we don't want to pay because the BBQ boys just want to get what they want.
We will be fine against St Johns and then find a way in the night game. Anything can happen in a single game with UVA. Premature to throw in the towel.
If we lose this regional it might be the end of Gautreau here. If not it should be.
