Devious probably knows more than I do. My guy had told me 30 or schollys lost earlier this year. Last time I asked him if he still thought 30 or so- he said "worse"....I asked how much worse, his reply "hard to say because the NCAA is not sure what to do its so bad. They are ****ed"
mistakes were made.
I love it! Worldcom type shit.
Just keeps snowballing on them
It's still concluding too. The investigation is conducted separately from the punishment, which means the committee responsible for levying the punishment hasn't had a chance to make decisions yet. For example, hypothetically, if the NCAA is in Oxford right now interviewing ole miss staff this week and expect it to continue into next week, they might catch them in a lie or have them come clean about past lies. A lot can still happen at this point, but whatever happens it's not good for the rebels. The largest NCAA investigation ever has potentially uncovered the most aggregious violations in the history of collegiate sports spanning across 3 sports and four coaching staffs.
I know for sure that their plan was to sell out on the 16 class and try to ride out the sanctions they knew they has coming. They were convinced they had enough talent to ride out whatever the NCAA handed out, they were so arrogant that they continued to operate as usual.
Today , the NCAA COI dropped the hammer on Cal State University Northridge for Academic Misconduct, not fraud - the AD official involved with illegal help to 10 students got 5 yrs show cause....this was the line in the findings that made me think about UNM and their boosters' standing with the NCAA investigators about now:
"The former director of basketball operations denied completing coursework or providing impermissible academic benefits to student-athletes; however, the panel did not find him to be credible."
After Tunsil and everything we believe to have been unearthed since then, the lies, the continued operation of the network - just how credible is the Bear Administration, Boosters, AD, Coaches, etc in the eyes of the NCAA?
Did anybody else read the title and hear it in Jim Nantz's voice with the Masters commercial jingle in the background? Seriously though, I predict show causes for Freeze and most of the staff, 24 scholarships over two years, and a two year bowl ban. It'll be the least harshest punishment for an aggravated Level 1. Bears will scream bloody murder while us State fans will say it's not enough. I personally hope for 40/4 or more, but I doubt it'll happen. If they did get 24 over two, it'll at least set them back 4-5 years with their current class being in the tank.
They're probably going to end up with around 15-20 Level 1's plus multiple Level 2 and 3's. if they're all aggravated (which they probably won't be) and they stacked them, they'd be on probation for at least 30 years! While I'd love to see that, my gut tells me the NCAA primarily wants Freeze's head on a platter. When the bears got hit with (correct me if I'm wrong) 24/2, 2 years probation, and a tv ban in 94, it was some of the harshest penalties they handed out since SMU. 24/2 wouldn't hurt Bama all that much, but with UM, along with this years unofficial probation wrecking their class, it would seriously set them back several years in addition to finding a new coaching staff to come to that dumpster fire. They'd have to pull off a 1997 Jackie Sherrill type class two years in a row which ain't happening.
If the NCAA goes Negan on UM, I'd expect a 3 year bowl ban and 36 over 3. I highly doubt we'll see another death penalty or 48/4. They would might as well turn the Vaught into a marijuana research field.
Reason, I've got degrees from our fine University. I spent a lot of time in Walker and McCain listening to Truax talk about biological oxygen demand, Cole joke about "beer and cookies" before handing out one of his nearly impossible Steel tests, and hearing Dr. Sinno telling the Concrete class that, "Steel does not fail, it yields!" for the umpteenth hundred time. I still have my 1996 Final Four hat and wear it occasionally even though the strap on the back is glued after breaking.
Hope its 30 schollys a 3 year bowl ban and exile from the SEC. Coming to the sunbelt the land shark/shit bird attack!!!!!
Why you wanna give me flash backs and heart palpations this early in morning?
I don't think it's possible to follow the chart, if you will. If they do its would be basically losing every scholarship when they get done. I think there are going to be 13-15 more allegations in the amended Noa, what if those are level ones I don't know.
Eta remember that's 13-15 allegations, not instances of infractions. That number will total well over 100 including the first letter.
