That was not a foul
Doubling Hubbard we have automatic guys open. No reason to lose this game.
Refs just screwing us over.
Aub 15 more FT than MSU??
Ok, I hope these refs' wives are getting the train run on them by 5 guys with genital warts
11 minutes of ballard and jones losing this lead.
Auburn player crying to the refs makes me wanna go back in time and kill their oak trees myself
It's not the refs fault we're losing. We saw how this game was called the first half and we played a lineup that would make it easy to defend us and hard for us to defend.
Ballgame
Josh is just way too streaky.
Every call goes their way
How about those 4 FTs by McGhee and jones
Holy **** how about that lineup where we had no jones and ballard and all of a sudden we took off like a jet engine
We have the same sec record as Auburn
We deserve this win just due to the bullshit calls! Good job tonight by not giving up.
Auburn would trade HCs in a heartbeat
SEC refs trying to get as many teams in the tournament as possible. It will be the same with Mizzou and UGA
Jans got outcoached tonight - Hubbard's first half was the difference.
Jans does not get credit for taking 15 minutes in the second half before he figured out the offensive lineup was the thing to run with. I last played basketball in 5th grade and I ****ing knew what would happen and melted as it did. I want a coach that I feel is smarter than me. Jans doesn't. Jans strikes me as a guy who thinks he's the smartest in every room he's ever walked into.
With 3:54 to go it was 80-73 Auburn and Shawn Jones finally subbed out at the same time Ballard sat.
Hubbard - McGhee - Epps - Achor - JDF played.
We went on a 14-3 run until subbing Jones in for Achor defensively with 24 seconds to go.
Yea my melt was fully ****ing justified. It was so obvious. Jans robbed us of a 50+ point game from Hubbard. That lineup gets Hubbard open looks in the first 10 minutes of the second half and keeps him hot.
Agreed, that is our best lineup. I know we are somewhat small in the backcourt but Hubbard Mcghee, Epps Achor and JDF give us the best chance to win, especially in crunch moments like that. Shawn Jones plays his butt off but he just doesnt bring enough offense to be in as much as he is. I dont mind Ballard at times because he does provide an inside presence and protects the paint, but our 5 main guys should be the ones you mentioned.
Just thought it worth noting this is Jones' line tonight...
12 pts (4/6 fg/ 2/4 from 3)
5 rebounds
5 assists (team leader)
1 TO
He was pretty instrumental in this win
He hit a couple of good shots in the first half.
It did not justify him being out there a majority of the second half. Jans still does not get when a game is an offense oriented game to ride the offensive heavy guys. We were getting torched defensively with two "primarily defensive" players in together for most of the second half. Auburn was doubling our main offensive threat every possession and we couldn't score.
It's directly on Jans that he didn't ****ing adjust until he was forced to play for points. He absolutely thinks if he has a 10 point lead that he can just defense his way to maintaining leads and win in today's game. We've lost several games this year because of that stupid mindset. Got lucky Hubbard had the best game of his life.
Him "earning" this spot is an indictment on Jans. Both things can be true. And he's not just on scholarship - he's got too hefty of an NIL bag for what he provides. So the man (not kid) can take the criticism. He hit a couple corner 3s finally last night. If he hits that shot and FTs consistently then he's worth it. Shouldn't have taken halfway through his senior year to make it to that point when that's largely who he's been for four years.
From all I've gathered, this team cost 10M, and jones got 200k (2% of total). I think you can find more of a waste than that to cry about
He averaged 34.5 per half... Hubbard got 35 in one half. I think it's safe to say that Pistol got a least 35 in one of those halves as we don't give 1/2 points. He did it without the 3 point line. Unless you saw him play, it's hard to realize what that guy was.
Someone did a study of his shots and a whole damn bunch of them were at distance that would have counted as 3's and beyond that that kicked his avg points per game so high it broke my brain.
not that breaking my brain would be a stretch... too easy... was not waiting on someone to do that or worse

Not sure if you guys can see this attachment from Facebook but you can read Hubbard's lips, he's yelling at Keyshawn Murphy saying "You dont leave State!!" I love it!!! And I love the passion he has for our school!
Not minimizing what Pistol did; a once in a lifetime player. Hard to compare but Hubbard's range and degree of difficulty with big guys in his face and quantity for a half has not been done 1-2 times at best.
Chris Jackson some 35 years ago is last one I can remember. We picked Chris Jackson up at half court and double triple teamed to get ball out of hands just like they did Hub last night. Only two times I've ever seen that in college game.
That's exactly what my dad text me from the game. He said the only other time he'd seen that was when we did the same thing to Chris Jackson. Said he's never seen a player in the zone that Hubbard was in last night. He sits by Bailey Howell every game and said Bailey leaned over to him when Hubbard hit the 9th 3 of the half and said his record was falling. He said if Auburn didn't start doubling him the second he crossed half court he was going to have 60.
Yep I was saying the same thing. I knew Auburn would do that as they should. They started a casual double at end of 1st but really committed to it in second. I predicted mid game Hub would have 10 in second half, he had 11. That 5 he scored in 20 seconds won the game. The team showed me some stuff last night after looking like we were done.
Hubbard standing tall for his school just makes me proud in a day when most players only care about NIL, etc. Hubbard is true maroon. Rare air these days.
That game appeared personal to several guys - Hubbard, Jones in particular. Give me more.
They were giving Murphy hell. Saw a clip of Hubb yelling "You don't leave State" by Murphy right at the end of the game
