You're low on both. The roster is well well over 3 mil. Basketball is crazy. Even for the avg guys.

With almost zero return on investment, except bragging rights... it's not sustainable.
I think that this is a fallacy. This must to be looked as an investment. The confederates and Oxford are booming, millions and millions are pouring into the local economy and the university. You guys should visit the other schools in our league, the bammers just spent 100 million on a welcome center. The money is rolling in for the schools that were smart enough to get ahead of the changes and the ones who were already established. As far as sustainability, the unlimited portal doesn’t seem like it is, but the genie is out of the bottle, who knows where that goes.
We have multiple guys in the NFL that have signed record breaking contracts. They are the ones who could move the needle with our NIL. It's their money and they can do as they please, but if they got involved (and maybe they are) we could make major moves and become a major player. Dak,Cross, and Jones are 3 that I know have record contracts. Please let the football gods look over us and let our former players get involved more. We deserve it after years of torture yet we remained faithful!!
Do you not realize how many are invested locally and are invested in the foundation. The Hotel Avalon and adjoining properties are not happening without the investment of many. A couple of huge donors are very much involved. There are investors and land swaps going on all the time, that’s just here.
So Hubbard making more than 90 percent of QBs this year?
Then jans needs to stop investing so heavy in HS recruits.
Exactly. Paying top dollar for coaches and NIL is great for the school and town and is very much worth it economically, but for you average fan who doesn't live in Starkville or make it back to Starkville very often there's basically no return on investment other than bragging on Monday at the water cooler.
The fact that NIL got placed on the backs of the fans who didn't profit at all in the old system is wild.
Agree. For the few that appear to be winning, the law of averages will come back around and they will not sustain. All that the system has done is drive the prices up for the same players. Fans are poorer and players are richer. W & L balance out. Kinda like gambling. The house never loses long term, the gambler does.
Is it baseball season yet?
