I do miss those automatic UK and Vandy wins

Beard is Mississippi's version of Jackie. They only got him due to his past
Didn?t say I was mad about it just a comparison.
Dan and Jans both raised their programs to good consistent winners but always seem to be middle of the pack and couldn?t move the needle to great. Always seems to be one aspect of the game that gets neglected that holds us back. Jans is in year 4 so not a long track record and as long as he is here, he still has time to continue to elevate the program above where he has already brought it.
For the record I?m glad Jans is at MSU. I think he?s good for us.
By the way, I?m not saying fire Jans. He needs an offensive minded assistant that has a better approach than what we currently have at this point.
I never once said he needed to be fired.. I never advocate for any coach to be fired. Im only calling out what I see and what Ive seen so far this season is outside of Josh Hubbard, we have no offense and the defense hasnt looked great either. I haven't seen any player development under Jans either, thats not saying the man needs to be fired, but changes need to be made.
If you're for telling a coach how to run his program, you're calling for him to be fired without saying it out loud. After all, if we think we know better than the guy we hired, we don't believe in the guy we hired.[/
Wtf???
How many hires last when you start telling them to hire a new OC/DC? You either trust the guy you hired or you don't. I've always been an advocate of letting the HC run it how ever he chooses, and if the results aren't good enough... well, fire him.
Now I'll be the first to admit our D falling off is concerning. If this continues, we could be seeing the end of Jans; but this shouldn't even be a consideration unless he crashes this season and doesn't rebound next. He's earned our trust imo
Just because a coach gets some critique doesn?t mean that he needs to be fired. Jans is a really good coach for us, but his defense last year and this year didn?t look like the defense his first two years. I?m not really sure what is going on there but we really need to fix that if we want to make the tournament. Last year we had the ability to make it by scoring, but that is not the case with this years team.
If there's anything I'm fine with, it's critiquing coaches. Hell, I get in trouble with this all the time. I feel basically giving up on a coach that has been great here after 2 games of a long season is a little quick on the trigger. Quick on the trigger is another thing I know about: I was totally wrong on Jans his first season.
Once I know a guy knows what he's doing like Jans and Mullen, I will take up for them though. Having guys that get us to 8 wins in football pretty regularly and getting us to the ncaa tourney in MBk don't grow on trees.
Dude shut up. I can critique a coach without saying the man needs to be fired. With your logic I better never see you say anything negative about a Coach or player because Im gonna call you out about it and say you want said player or Coach to be fired. That makes absolutely no sense
No one said fire him! He needs to hire an offensive minded assistant, plus that would open up recruiting opportunities. Look, I can?t dumb it down any further. I?m watching AR/LSU, and I?m glad VB is in Red Stick. aTm is getting it handed to them right now as well.
I?m not saying ?we? should tell him what he needs to do. I said HE needs to hire an offensive minded assistant, as in HE would notice that offense is an issue. By the way, I don?t want to be in the ?top 30? nationally offensively. I want top 20 or better, bc I do expect more from MBK. We have the money to be a top 25 plus team per year and making the tourney as a 5-7 seed, but being in the top half of the SEC. Reading comprehension might be your problem.
I don't know about us being top 25 in NIL. Here's some estimates for teams around the country.

The money some of these programs spend on NIL on just transfers is insane
ETA... I'm not saying we aren't spending top 25, but we aren't listed in any list of big spenders. ChatGPT couldn't find a number for basketball, but says this about our NIL program...
"Estimated NIL budget (collective) for MSU: ~$6.48 M/year via the Bulldog Initiative". This is for all sports.
It also says we can use revenue sharing, but there's no hard numbers out there.
