lol, Lebby thinking ok state would want him is somehow perfect.

I know that State doesn’t have the most talented roster but a 17 pt lead blown with 10 minutes left in the game? Lebby running up-tempo and snapping the ball with 20 seconds left on the play clock is absolutely coaching and poor clock management. I thought Shapen played well most of the game but Lebby shits the bed in back to back games.
Those bad coaching decisions sometimes look better with better players. Do we convert those 4th and 1's with Fluff for example? Maybe. Definitely have a better chance with him than Booth because he is a better player. Do better players make better decisions? In general probably yes.
The issue with MSU is for year and years MSU has always put almost everything at the feet of the coaches and almost always have the players a pass with the starting QB being the exception. That's understandable because pre-NIL MSU wasn't supposed to pay players. But now we can pay players.
Regardless of what happens with Lebby now or in the future MSU MUST begin to focus more and more on acquiring players with talent rather than hope that we can find some coach that can outscheme people and coach up diamonds in the rough.
..
I watched the DII Natty last year against Valdosta St. I said during the game "whoever gets this guy in the portal is going have a huge steal." I watched a lot of DII the past 4 years because my son went to Valdosta - there are some P5 players on some of the top teams. If we had signed him, our fans would have tarred and feathered Lebby.
NOT that it matters, om is two fumbles late game away from two more loses, Dogs are two late game plays away from two more wins.....
I don’t really know who to blame at this point. I imagine if you fire Lebby you just end up 2-10 with some other dude. Who even cares at this point? Just let him have three years and fire him next.
That's the opposite of what we should be doing if we want to get better. Our fans overvalue coaches and undervalue players.
Give more money, get better players, and get better results. It is what it is. Sabotaging the coach now only hurts the next coach we get if it doesn't work out.
I don?t know. These $5mm players beat the $30mm players for over 45 minutes.
Shapen played really well.
What?s dumb is having a head coach who is learning on the job. He's clearly just an O coordinator. He?s deep in the 4th quarter looking at his play sheet all the while we are losing momentum by the second.
By still being the O coordinator, he CANNOT grasp the situation unfolding in front of him.
Lebby must have an OC next year, I think that this hits pretty close to some of the issues. He's too focused on calling the offense and not looking at the overall gameplan and strategy, he very may well be limited to being an OC, but he must get a dedicated OC next year.
Before just saying "open the wallet", you need to factor the tax that will be paid to get players despite a coach and staff that is not managing games to win.
AD and alumni have to factor the price of the coach v. the extra NIL tax to get players despite losing.

All Lebby has to do is kick the field goal and we are 5-2. All he has to do is run the clock and get out of the hurry up offense while we are up 10 with 4 minutes left and we are 6-2. The issue I have is that these are very very very basic coaching strategies that win games more times than they lose. It is, frankly, indefensible for a head coach in the SEC to be making these dumbass decisions that cost us games. It’s all on coaching decisions. All of it.
An average coach wouldnt have scored 38 last night with a QB like Shapen who we've been told by most here sux
Completely delusional. Our schedule hasn't even been that hard by SEC standards. Florida is trash. Texas is way overrated. Lots of other teams are competitive against them.
Just taking Texas to overtime isn't going to save Mark Stoops' job (a guy who has taken Kentucky to 8 bowl games), and it shouldn't save Lebby's either.
LOL! No we didn't. Look. How many times did a DLman come through untouched last night? Our OL is horrible. There is a noticeable drop off from Fluff to Booth, and there is nobody really behind Booth.
I was reading and saw this point, and it's accurate.
Lane Kiffin made what we all consider to be horrible calls on the road vs OU. He went for it on 4th down on his own 25 and did not make it. Then they drive the field to the 2 yard line and he pulls his starting QB and puts in a cold qb to throw 2 incomplete, yet open passes and settled for a FG.
The difference. They have the talent, whether we like it or not, to overcome mistakes by coaching and players. Just like Texas does.
