I wouldn't be so sure about that...
Hopefully he wins a couple more games and makes the question moot, but I would say 80% chance he's fired if we finish 4-8 (0-8).

Absolutely ain?t happening. Next year will tell the tail. I really hope they can put something together. We have to compete in football, be good in basketball, and great in baseball to stay in the league. We have to keep receiving that check every year to make it.
Lebby was basically guaranteed 3 years barring something completely crazy. His recruiting is very concerning. I really didn?t like the hire from day 1 and tonight was a disaster, but it will be a good test to see if he can hold the team together.
I’ve also read this tonight- “even Vandy wouldn’t put up with this”
Clark Lea’s first 3 seasons at Candy he went 2-22 in the SEC. Yes, they did put up with it. And then when he raised hell at them saying he needed money- they went out and raised it for him. Now they pay their QB 2MM while we pay ours about 500K. You ****ing get what you ****ing pay for. 2MM is the beginning price for an SEC QB now
We are what we are in the portal. Our relative money position isn't changing, at least until the SEC adopts some kind of NIL sharing program.
So with that in mind, if Lebby goes 0-8 this year, there's no reason to expect him to be much better in future years. Yes, we've been a little unlucky in SEC play and some years he might be lucky and win a few, but if we're 0-8 again, we're fools to expect him to ever accomplish anything here.
His HS recruiting is almost non-existent. Not sure whether to blame him and the staff for just being REALLY bad recruiters or if this is some strategy just to put all our eggs in the portal basket but we have never been this bad at HS recruiting especially instate.
Lebby is a loser, any one who thinks otherwise is a dumbass
I think going 0-16 over the first 2 years, with being completely competitive in every SEC game in year 1 as well as getting blown out by Toledo, and then in year 2 going 0-8 again and losing games directly due to coaching incompetence, qualifies as "something completely crazy."
I want Lebby to prove me wrong over these last 5 games, but I think we all kinda doubt he will.
Our best shot at a conference game will be next week, however I think we'll beat ourselves. There's no reason to believe otherwise.
We are in a new age of football with NIL/Portal. What used to happen doesnt mean anything now- its apples to oranges.
You guys dont get it- we are the new Vandy now. Until we spend like the rest of the conference in football- We are old school Vandy.
We fund basketball in the middle of the conference with NIL- and that is where we keep getting picked and results.
We were funding baseball middle of the conference- and were getting the same results. Now we are funding baseball in the top of the SEC and well look at what has started happening
Until football gets another 15MM per a year- we aint going to do anything. We raised our level of spending for this season and guess what? We went 4-0 OOC. But when your football funding is bottom 25% of the SEC- well that is where you are going to end up.
Drinkwitz is similar I believe. But my biggest thing is that it takes major money to crawl out this deep shit hole Lebby inherited. We are not a winning program right now. Kids want to play for a winner and make money too. So we probably have to over spend on some players unless they just love the school. What top coach are we going to hire to off set our NIL deficiencies? And what top coach wants to come here unless we get really competitive with NIL. A great coach can help some but most coaches are great because they have good to great players.
Look at all these excuses. Just shut the program down and become Villanova if our boosters are ok with this
Just took an hour to eat dinner have a drink and calm down. Popped back on the board to read some post game analysis. Never heard so much name calling in the first 20 posts of a thread lol. Lebby is an idiot for what he did tonight but damn did he get you guys caring about football again. Lots of passion on here
Believe me, I'm usually the one who points out that it's all about money. I get it.
But a "replacement level" coach wins today's game with our exact roster as it is. We lost because of Lebby's poor coaching decisions. And an above-average-but-not-elite coach (the kind we can get because we're an SEC job) probably beats Tennessee too.
I get that our financial situation is going to hold us back, but there are plenty of coaches we could have had instead of Lebby that would have us at 6-1 and even more that would have us at 5-2.
I would be willing to give Lebby a 3rd year even at 0-16 if the roster were so woefully underfunded that there was just nothing even a really great coach could have done. But that's not the case here. Lebby is losing games for us, and it's a huge red flag for the future.
I'm poor with 2 boys in HS that are very expensive. It's costing a grand just for the kid that plays football/baseball. Little 34 plays football/basketball so its not as bad. And I'm not the one complaining or talking about spending millions to fire this staff and then spend millions more to hire another.
We covered today. I'm happy. My sons got Pizza Hut delivered tonight because we covered. It's been a good day around here
