As a saints fan, I know exactly how this goes. Brees was signed a good deal, and he was surrounded by a good team. As his contract went up, the surrounding talent went down. The saints were pretty bad until they landed an all-time rookie class in 2017. Not sure why you guys are arguing that paying one player a substantial portion of your cap won't have an effect on the cast. I mean they just traded one of the best defenders in football over money
ETA... right now, off has parsons rated the 4th best player in football regardless of position. I would think Dallas' D would look much better with him.
