Jimmy Keenan the St John's Catcher has been identified as the top MLB prospect for STJ in 2025. I guess I'm not the only admirer.
He could greatly improve that draft stock in a maroon uniform with a little SEC patch on the shoulder.

A few of the players I'm hearing we've already identified and are trying to set up visits with:
1. Cole Cramer 3B Washington St.- .345 avg, .487 slg, .425 OBP, 15 2B, 3 HR
2. Gehrig Frei 3B North Alabama- .320 avg, .597 slg, .420 OBP, 12 2B, 15 HR
3. Blake Cyr OF/INF Miami- .284 avg, .537 slg, .397 OBP, 3 2B, 7 HR (numbers are a little low because he had thumb surgery the beginning of April that kept him out the rest of the year)
4. Jason Torres 1B Miami- .331 avg, .529 slg, .385 OBP, 7 2B, 8 HR (numbers are low becuase he had Tommy John and missed the last month. Will be ready to go for 2025)
5. Gavin Kash 1B Texas Tech- .300 avg, .561 slg, .365 OBP, 17 2B, 15 HR (Numbers dipped this year. Was incredible in 2023. Will be one of the most sought after guys in the portal.)
On the Keenan thing, he would be a great pickup, but let's don't turn this into a Zach Neto situation. As a refresher, our fans took a message board rumor that his uncle told everyone he loved Mississippi State at the 21 Regionals and everyone assumed that he was transferring when the guy never even went into the portal.
Lash is a big one . 41 homers in 2 seasons
1B Eric Rataczak, has entered the portal are fulfilling his career with the Purple Eagles. He hit .396 with 17 HRs, 71 RBIs, 31 walks (25 K's) + 1.183 OPS.
Portal players are already committing to schools so lets hope that we will start getting return attractions.
Ohio State LHP Landon Beidelschies is a guy we're on.
6'3, 225 lbs.
4.15 ERA, 91 Ks, and 31 BBs in 84.2 IP.
3:1 K/BB ratio. Struck out 26% of the batters he faced while only walking 8.8%.
Going to be a 2025 draft pick
Need about 30 players
Aiden Moffett LSU P in the portal. He's a MS kid. Consistency has been his issue but his stuff is 98 mph and looked great against A&M.
I’ll trust Parker with any tranfers. Lemonis/Gotro on the other hand better get to work for the line up… seen several kids already committed to Florida and FSU…
Portal is nice and all, but when should we expect to hear Geatreau fired? I think that is more important than the portal at the moment
Here's the caveat with him, he had over a 30 ACT. He's been on academic scholarship at LSU. He's not going to hurt your scholarship allotment. I watched him some this year and he developed a slider and a change that he's never had. He completely overpowered A&M for four innings. He's got a little better stuff than Holcombe at this point but Holcombe got screwed by Foxy. Moffett has a better mindset. It's whether he can continue to improve. Being a small school guy, he was always going to need two or three years to learn to pitch. He was much better this year but still inconsistent.
Rosey is reporting to expect at least one out of the portal this weekend. I've heard closer to two or three
Thinking one is going to be North Alabama 3B Gehrig Frei.
Switch hitter.
.320/15 HR/49 RBI/1.017 OPS, 10% K% and 10% BB% for a 1:1 K:BB ratio, which is really good. Fielded .943 which is not awful but not great. Hits better from the left side. Definitely a good start
Best I can tell, here's our pitching board:
Everett Catlett, LHP Georgetown - 3.36 ERA, 84 K, 35 BB, 77.2 IP
Landon Beidelschies, LHP Ohio St - 4.15 ERA, 91 K, 31 BB, 84.2 IP
Adam Mrakitsch, LHP Central Mich - 5.21 ERA, 66 K, 22 BB, 46 IP
Deven Sheerin, RHP Mt. St. Mary's - 4.76 ERA, 109 K, 32 BB, 70 IP
Michael Ross, RHP Samford - 3.27 ERA, 88 K, 21 BB , 96 IP
Griffin Green, RHP Va Tech - 6.17 ERA, 38 K, 22 BB, 42 IP (2023)
Joseph Dzierwa, LHP Mich St - 4.07 ERA, 91 K, 27 BB, 87 IP
Myles Patton, LHP LBSU - 3.26 ERA, 85 K, 24 BB, 66 IP
Zach Root, LHP ECU - 3.56 ERA, 76 K, 21 BB, 68 IP
Zac Cowan, RHP Wofford - 3.60 ERA, 124 K, 29 BB, 110 IP
Brian Curley, RHP VCU - 2.87 ERA, 78 K, 35 BB, 78 IP
Aiden Moffett, RHP LSU - 5.60 ERA, 21 K, 11 BB, 17.2 IP
Yes, Parker is a Canadian whisperer, I am astonished with his accomplishments with Hardin, Davis, and Stephenz.
With Stephens, from Ok Big 10 pitcher to 1st Team All SEC is awesome work. MSUs 1st team All SEC pitchers include dudes like Stratton, Hudson and Small. Even a legend like Landon Simms was 2nd Team.
Wonder what Parker will accomplish with Stevens, Dotson, Grant, Loftin, Ligon, Holcombe, and Black with a full year as their coach.
ECU is losing 8 players to the portal. Root the RHP and now OF Bristol Carter.
Carter was supposed to be top returner and was an elite recruit for ECU.
A freshman with a 346 average and 156 ABs of experience. Murders LHP with a 373 average.
