Our fans are no different than any other fan base, period.......
Winning is always a good thing. Should be an interesting game. I think we have a 50.1% chance of us winning.
Sorry but I'm just not sold on the Pirate but I will always pull for MSU.
I've already bought in.
I guess some of you forget Mullen had some years similar to this. Not to mention the threat of him leaving for another job every year. Imagine what that did to recruiting when the recruits weren't sure he'd be their coach. How's Mullen doing with better talent at FL right now?
Leach wanted to come back to the SEC to show it can work in the SEC. He absolutely does want to win. You should read his book where he tells several stories about doing absolutely everything he could think of to give his under matched teams a chance to win. He left a fake play sheet on the field when he was the offensive coordinator at Oklahoma for the Red River Rivalry game. It threw Texas for a loop and allowed Oklahoma to start the game 2 scores ahead.
He's done more with less than most coaches in the nation. Texas Tech was never a recruiting hotspot and neither was Washington State. We're not that much better, but do have access to higher quality players.
No (I already bought in, so really ya, but no ... doesn't change where I am). But we're going to win.
Leach is not an improvement over CDM. He will, at best, get us back to that level, if we are lucky. Regardless of if it?s RTGDFB or AirRaid, one dimensional football can only take you so far, and this ride has more dips than climbs, which seems so impossible that it?s maddening.
I agree with this but also, even though he will have his most talented teams here, it will still be the same situation as everywhere else
If he had a top 25 recruiting class at texas tech or Washington state, he would have top 5 talent in the conference
If leach has #25 class at msu , he will not even have top 10 talent in the sec when 5-6 sec schools recruit in the top 10
I like Leach personally but hate his offense.... It's gonna take way more than a win against Kentucky to win me over and I'm not sure a win there would even be a start. For me this won't happen until possibly next year if we see more SEC wins and scoring improvement and I believe that will take a major adjustment to his current scheme ..... I really hope to be won over but it won't happen this year
I'm smart enough to understand that we're essentially getting the same results as we did under Dan and that we've already gotten about as many top 25 wins as we did under Dan. And that if our program is ever going to move forward we're going to have to throw the ball. That's the way the game is trending and has been for awhile.
And no we don't have to not will we be so extreme passing the ball with our coaches going forward. But the reality is we will start putting wide receivers and QB's in the league and that helps MSU in the long run.
But hey! Let's not buy in and blow this all up so that we can go back to what never has worked before and gotten essentially the same results as Leach while he is just starting to implement his program.**
Yeah! But, Leach didn't. He recruited about where we are recruiting at State. If he can somehow up the numbers to being a top 20-25 recruiting team. That is major, you start compounding good classes over good classes wins will become more and more normal and not so much cyclical like there were under Mullen.
