LouisVegas?
I always liked the term "Chattaboogie" for Chattanooga. My sister went to MTSU in the late 80s and early 90s and they all called Nashville "Nashvegas".
And Starkvegas has been around since then too along with Starkpatch. Another good one was "Fayetteville--Nam" for Fayetteville Ark.
There are a few floating around for Chattanooga. I guess four syllables lends itself to that kind of thing? I usually go with the less-is-more approach, though -- "the Noog."
Which reminds me of a local creek called "Suck Creek" that's known to hikers and kayakers as "the Suck."
What was this thread about again? Oh, Texas and Journey. Yeah, I got nothing on that.
Man, I'm struggling at the office today, guys.
Welcome aboard, dude. I'm guessing that our town's rise to its current hipster glory has taken us beyond such base tropes. We're too busy talking over $15 artisan cocktails about how many new collaborative web-based-content idea factories started up in the past two weeks to notice a nickname that's so dated. It's the Gig City, bro -- plug in to our municipal fiber optics and feel the synergy!
I kid because I love . . . .
Tuscavegas.
The first example that comes to mind is Ashville, NC=Ashvegas.
