Yea that's kinda what I was wondering. I'm no architect, but could they split it up to where the season was played in between two phases of the construction of the new stadium? May not be possible.

This sort of thing typically makes the price go up dramatically.
I remember watching a documentary several years ago about renovations being done at the Pentagon. Someone used the analogy that it was like trying to upgrade a TV set from black and white to color without turning it off.
It seems to me like most stadiums still have things that they are working on when they open- but they are intact for the most part.
A brand new ballpark can be built in about a year.
I would love to see a new park, but I've heard rumors saying the expansion to the north end zone at DWS has some money problems.
I don't think Stricklin would hire an architecture/design dream team that would make some MLB organizations jealous, and then publicly announce that we are going to have the best college baseball stadium in America if he wasn't absolutely sure we had the money to fund it. That's just my opinion.
Why would it have money problems when everyone knew before ground was broken what it would cost? The only way they would have money problems at this point is if there were some SERIOUS change orders to the construction contract. Or if PSL's/suite commitments were being backed out on.
Go big time and build on north farm- plenty of space to make huge- beautiful stadium!
Seriously? Why the hell would you do that? That means there is a highway dividing the stadium from campus that would just screw everything up. For instance, during SBW you couldn't take in the game and then walk over to the scrimmage or vice versa. You would be forced to get in your car and drive over. Students would have to get in there car and drive to the stadium instead of walking over from the dorms, frats or after class. The players would have to get in their car and drive over for practice. Walkability and convenience to other baseball facilities are very important. The current location is great other than the lack of a 'main entry'
Gives new stadium with competive design- could fix left field based on the way it is now- plenty of parking - old tickets holders legal claim to seats gone - build huge area like Turner field- sorry- guess I dream to big!
Everybody is entitled to their own opinion and I'm glad you voiced yours. I just agree to disagree with you. That's not dreaming "big" at all. It creates more problems than it solves. We aren't a pro team...we're a college team that is a part of the university. Moving to the north farm creates a disconnection between the stadium and campus that makes college sports so special. If it moved...the only place I could see it moving would be into the Sanderson parking lot. I just don't see that happening though. We have plenty of room to work right where it is.
You are not looking ahead 30 years- I lived on county line road in Madison county in 1980- it was 2 lane with 1 - I repeat 1 little grocery store on it- look at it now - 1 guy sold his 1 acre lot for 2 million! - think big ! Plan long term with a lease on a bass pro shop next door - or other if attraction - water park- six flag- with convention center / casino- think out side the the box- think years ahead and be different- I'm trying please all state fans make suggestions - go state!
Why not try to get the opryland land group / they also have a resort town south of Washington, D.C. / to put a resort-conventigation center in with baseball complex- add 12 little league fields for state- national tourneys- big money makers & good for recruiting !!! Discount mall like Pearl's getting
I'll have one of whatever he's having.
There's no way to have a grand entrance where the stadium sits now. Between the Raffy Center, the Hump, and the topography, you can't hardly see it, anyway.
Move it to where the soccer field is with home plate at the NW corner. It would be highly visible, close to existing parking and facilities, and it would require a minimum amount of inconvenience. They could throw up a new soccer "stadium" any number of places first and then break ground with business as usual at DNF until it is complete.
