It seems to me like most stadiums still have things that they are working on when they open- but they are intact for the most part.
A brand new ballpark can be built in about a year.
I would love to see a new park, but I've heard rumors saying the expansion to the north end zone at DWS has some money problems.
I don't think Stricklin would hire an architecture/design dream team that would make some MLB organizations jealous, and then publicly announce that we are going to have the best college baseball stadium in America if he wasn't absolutely sure we had the money to fund it. Seriously? Why the hell would you do that? That means there is a highway dividing the stadium from campus that would just screw everything up. For instance, during SBW you couldn't take in the game and then walk over to the scrimmage or vice versa. You would be forced to get in your car and drive over. Students would have to get in there car and drive to the stadium instead of walking over from the dorms, frats or after class. The players would have to get in their car and drive over for practice. Walkability and convenience to other baseball facilities are very important. The current location is great other than the lack of a 'main entry'Quote:

Everybody is entitled to their own opinion and I'm glad you voiced yours. I just agree to disagree with you. That's not dreaming "big" at all. It creates more problems than it solves. We aren't a pro team...we're a college team that is a part of the university. Moving to the north farm creates a disconnection between the stadium and campus that makes college sports so special. If it moved...the only place I could see it moving would be into the Sanderson parking lot. I just don't see that happening though. We have plenty of room to work right where it is.Quote:

Move it to where the soccer field is with home plate at the NW corner. It would be highly visible, close to existing parking and facilities, and it would require a minimum amount of inconvenience. They could throw up a new soccer "stadium" any number of places first and then break ground with business as usual at DNF until it is complete.
