As much good as he did with the program, he always seemed to call the wrong offensive plays and not play to our strengths in crucial situations late in games against (top 25) teams. His record bears this out.

One thing that really got me this year was all the yards we potentially left on the field by fair catching punts. Gray had to have fair catch 80% of them, then Myles the same thing, then Thomas finally got out there and returned a few. After he ran one back for a TD, next game he was fair catching everything. Then on senior night Myles still couldn’t hardly play so he put him back there to fair catch every punt. Why in the hell after Deddrick Thomas returned one for TD did we revert back to fair catching everything? Why did we fair catch most all of them all year anyway? With the number of WR injuries we had, I don?t think Dan wanted to risk getting someone hurt on a PR. Although, we?ve always fair caught a lot under Dan.
Myles was still hurt and couldn?t run (my theory). Dan put him back there as a Senior reward. I don?t think he played a regular down against OM.
