Pretty simple to Me. When the Ump has a wide strike zone Pilk is tough. When the UmP has a zone the size of a thimble the Pilk struggles.

Pilkingtons stuff is still there but his command has been off. That's a sign to me that he may be a little tired. Generally a pitchers command goes before his velocity. He just didn't look right, not comfortable. I hope it is just a mechanical issue, because that's something Henderson can sure get fixed. It wouldn't bother me any if we won the SEC regular season and then let Pilkington throw about 30 pitches in the tournament and then take a break until the regionals
I think it is more of a testament to the scouting report SEC teams have on him now. Early in the SEC season he was creating a lot of swing and misses out of the zone even early in counts. Hitters are now spitting on those pitches and he is getting in disadvantage counts too often.
