Heck, Gerritt Cole was drafted 27 overall out of high school and then #1 out of college. Also, for the most part, a 3 year college player in the SEC will make it to the bigs about the same time as a high school kid drafted. And I would much rather live the college life over living the minor league life for 3 years.

Again, this is very unlikely to happen, but just my unimportant thoughts. I'll be hopeful until the end.

The college experience is great looking back on. When you're 18 and being offered 1.5 million though, I don't think very many kids are thinking about the college experience. I think previous signing numbers will support my theory. He gone...

This. Word has even gotten out that their first round pick, Kolby Allard, only worked out for the Braves and told everyone else he was going to school. I think the Braves are making some under the table agreements with these guys.

If I had been a good enough baseball player to be drafted in a position to get $1.5 million, college would have waited.

You know what's wild though. Austin Riley is getting similar money to what Kirk Presley got when he was a top 10 pick.
