I understand that part of it. What's crazy to me is an 8 spot drop without us playing a game. Must have been either several teams we already played that lost after our game was over, or several teams on the schedules of teams in our same RPI vicinity that won late last night. Just impossible to predict how much or in what direction your RPI ranking will move until very late in the season.

I wish Warrennolan, etc., wouldn't even publish baseball RPIs until May. This early, they just don't mean anything. Several teams that made the tournament as at-large teams last year had triple-digit RPIs in early April. As the SEC goes on and we all keep playing each other, we keep raising all of our SOS / Opponent SOS ratings. We'll all climb in the RPI just by playing each other.
