Great people. Weather was perfect for a football Saturday
2. Got to bring up Thursday one last time. You want people to take you seriously as a college town? Have some shit open when all the hotel rooms are booked in town for the big game. People lining up on 12 to get into Sonic for their Thanksgiving meal is ridiculous. People driving 4/5/6 hours to get there the night before for an 11am game deserve better.
3. Interesting decision to make the switch for this game and I applaud him doing it. Kinda ****ed over Shapen altho he wasnt 100% but thats the Era we are in now. Shapen makes more money a year than I do- he can handle it. Dont really blame him or his parents being pissed about it all but I think them refusing to go thru Sr Day over it was a bad decision. It's your kids last college game. Dont throw a fit and make it about you. KT could have gotten hurt on the 5th play from scrimmage and its a different day all around. Just a bad look from the family side.
4. KT did about as expected. Flashes of big ballin and flashes of he still has some shit to figure out. We probably score a few more points with Shapen at QB for the game (it was our 2nd worst scoring output of the season with KT at QB) but it wouldnt have mattered. Mississippi was going to outscore us regardless of what we did offensively. He was under 50% passing which was also expected. We didnt get but a couple of big passes with one being a short throw with lots of YAC- however his legs allowed him to make a couple of huge plays in the ballgame. Limited playbook but he handled it overall pretty well. Positives? He got a start under his belt and we passed of the torch. Shows alot of promise for 2026 to motivate fans and attract offensive pieces to play with him. Motivates boosters with NIL.
5. Hutz had a pretty good gameplan. Control the run. Force them to beat you with the pass. And unfortunately- they did. Not sure if #4 is hot buttered toast or cinnamon- but toast he is. We lack speed at LB. Our pass rush non-existant. We cant tackle in space on D- and that is why we arent very good on that side of the ball. Hutz is almost 100% going to be replaced- but until we get more talent and speed on D- it wont matter who the DC is.
6. Hearing boosters are committing to spending more in NIL in exchange for a new DC. Look for that to happen. No names as of yet. He's not being "forced" to fire his DC- but if he wants the funds necessary- change needs to happen
7. Lebby is not going to be "forced" to hire an OC. thats not how things are going to go. If he does it will be his choice. Also expect him to call plays again in 2026.
8. Basketball's problem for 2025-2026? We only have 3 Guard's that can play. We dont have a legit 3 guy. We have 2 athlete's that pay hard. Our starting G's are short and get shot over. They play hard- but 4-6 inches in length makes a big difference as most of your wives know. We can play 3 G's like we did last night and be solid- but it leaves us with no G depth.
9. While we have lost guys over NIL- most of the reason is that guys cant stand Jans after awhile. He wears thin on ya day after day. This comes from people close to the program.
10. Bring on beisball. See you guys in Dallas at the end of Feb.
