I dont disagree with this. His attitude when dealing with the entire team now certainly has helped. I'm just saying no big changes were made. The guys are now playing the way they were expected to play. Beans has a 16 games hitting streak now. Before that he was batting about .200 in the SEC- that's been a huge lift to the offense the last 16 games. Frei playing everyday made us better. Pitchers coming in and pitching better has made us better. It's just a few guys here and there playing better ball has gotten this team over that hump it needed

Powell catching every meaningful inning since lemonis was fired has been big. Should have been the case since day 1. That and settling SS, 2B, and LF would have probably saved Lemonis job.

Not to overhype the freshmens ***, but Foster coming back, might be another arrow for Parker if he knocks off the rust.
Foster and McPherson may be huge for post season. At the very least, they get that experience for next year , assuming we NIL them well.
These are some good recruits by Parker. I really felt he was recruiting better for us, not to mention what he is bringing in this off season from HS and maybe portal

If we're honest with ourselves, we're afraid to admit Parker has made a difference because he's not the one we want to get the job. I personally believe the team has played looser and had a lot more fun than they were before Lemon was fired. Credit to Parker for that. With that said, we must be told NO by several candidates before considering him. Truthfully, Gaut has more of a right to the job than JP.

Recruiting to Starkville for the family move, is just as much as anything.

Either way it helps sell the program for the next guy coming in. Yes we fired our hc that won a NC but look at what we have. It isn't a rebuild, we can win now...etc

True- people are concerned Parker could pull an Arnett and they are smart and wise to consider this.

Difference to the Arnettgate:

(1) we liked Leach, hate lemons
(2) leach died and lemons was fired
(3) Arnett had no prestige and was only attracting D-grade assistants like the Barbay clown
(4) Arnett only won that poorly coached and scrappy Illinois game
(5) Parker has a bigger sample size 9 SEC games, now the SECT, an NCAA Regional coming up, hopefully a Super, and hopefully an Omaha.
(6) we might see a few weeks of portal action before a decision
(7) we might see Parker and/or Goat become candidates for jobs
(9) nobody the echelon of BOC was a candidate in football

Reasons Parker is suspect still:
(1) he was here all year
(2) did not win any big portal pitcher recruits
(3) no South Carolina pitchers came last year after they fired Kingston
(4) he recruited Pruitt
(5) no team USA players he coached transferred to MSU
(6) MSU won games that MSU usually wins with Parker, thus far (still has a regional to win)
(7) Parker would not be a candidate for Vandy, LSU, Texas, Georgia, or Florida if someone snaked their coach.
(8) LSU would hire Wes Johnson
(9) Vandy would hire BOC
(10) Texas would hire Vitello or Van Horn or LSU Johnson
(11) UGA would hire Saarloos or Walter
(12) Florida would hire Bakich
(13) Kentucky would hire Coggin as HC and Parker as PC if MSU took Ming.

For me in my limited interaction with Lemonis I think he couldn't handle the pressure of MSU baseball. He talked about the crowds, the Dude Effect, and etc. and I think he blew it out of proportion and made it bigger than it was.

It's hard to play when your coach is making everything out to be the World Series and the biggest moment of your life.

It's probably legit because everyone shits on Starkville every chance they get.

I'll sum it up. MSU fans are tired of promoting assistants because we have done it multiple times in other sports and it not only hasn't worked out it has made things exponentially worse. The last time it worked was Dan and that was what 16 years ago?

The reality is Lemonis needed to be fired but he also wasn't doing that bad. I think we make a regional anyway with him even if we dropped another game or two that we have won during this stretch.

I think that if you fire a guy like Lemonis who didn't do an overall awful job here- 2 CWS appearances, a NC, and then 2 more regional appearances in 6 years- you better make damn sure you hire someone elite to take us to the next level.

Let's look at baseball- Cohen was an elite coach. He took what Polk built and took it to the next level by 2016- we were in SR's annually and made Omaha 3 years in a row and had a title to boot. He decided he wants to play AD and then we hire Cann who was awful. That happened at a time when it is really hard to find a head coach. Then we basically get promised that we're going to get Schlossnagle by Cohen. That falls through. Then we get a guy that I had never heard of before until we hired him. It looks good at first but then things go off the rails. So now here we are. If we hire Parker it is going to divide the fan base. A lot of fans won't care because they're going to be going "here we go again."

Now if we hire BOC, Bakich, Wasikowski, Pollard, Wes Johnson, etc. THAT is going excite fans.

It depends if the family moving there craves a small town, with no big city for a couple of hours away.
if so, then it is a great setting.

I think this is why every option for the HC job should be open right now until things play out.

But of those, which ones are truly wanting to take the job and move, as in really pushing for the job?
BOC clearly is trying his best to stay in Charlottesville if VA just tries to help him a little bit. Pollard most likely sticks with Durham. Wes has his agent playing the leverage game with Georgia.
Waz? That would be great to land any of them. But is he really interested yet or is it more games to get Oregon to help?

This song and dance happens for every HC position at MSU which is why up and coming assistants are hired at MSU, or coaches from G5.
I want one of the top tier guys, and the money we will spend for one will be above and beyond most schools. We cannot dismiss assistants yet or act like we know for sure the other coaches are knocking on the door begging to come here.

As far as divide the fan base, it seems other than BOC, Johnson, Bakich or Waz, that any other hire will have the fan base initially split.
