Lemons- Fox were a plague and disease upon Mississippi State.
Lemonis was an analytics person. That's not what I was totally referring to as much as I was referring to making sure that we were maximizing our resources available and making sure that MSU is at the top of the SEC in terms of utilizing modern baseball technology.
To sum it up- we were basically spinning our wheels with Lemonis and people were tired of it.
What I was referring to was our analytics department is going to be expanding. For example, Tennessee has a guy that does the analytics for pitching only. They also have someone that exclusively does hitting. We have one guy handling it all.
But it's much more than that- we're going to likely add a GM position that is going to focus on things like recruiting and the portal.
I think we're going to see former MSU players involved more in the program in terms of donations and things like that as well.
As far as equipment goes I think we need to increase what we have on the hitting side as far as tech goes to match what we have as far as pitching goes.
And I think we're also going to see some old school things- hopefully a coach that emphasizes baseball fundamentals as well.
I've heard people say that we are going to a more pro model and the thing about that is that is going to be a blend of analytics, biomechanics, and old school baseball fundamentals. That's one thing I hated about the movie Moneyball is it made it look like that people that adhered to old school baseball fundamentals and ideas were old relics and that none of their stuff worked. And that's not the truth. There are good things to take from everything and you have to put it together rather than go all in on one or the other. And that's what we're going to try to do.
I feel good about the search and where it is going. I think it will end better than when we hired Lemonis.
I am kinda digging this teams metrics. Knock the cover off the ball. We have had an entire week of practice, seeing terrible pitches and knowing what NOT to swing at. I think we will win a few in Hoover. We should be a solid 2 seed out West or a 3 seed closer to home. Hopefully Tallahasee. Todd, I hope all you said comes true. We deserve it.

Best alternative to negotiated agreement...is you don't hire anybody. Just hire another top Pitching Coach and let Parker tend the bucket.
Tell Goat to go full gorilla like Elander and Coggin. Or hire an MiLB hitting coach,
Go hire a recruiter and 3rd base coach. Hype Guy.
Keep Goat as recruiting and portal scout.
Saves money
I don't see Gautreau taking a demotion with us.
I have a feeling that he might end up at UL Monroe as their head coach who fired Mike Federico today. I'm not sure if they would pay him more than MSU or not- but maybe so. And even if not at least it's career upward mobility. Unless Tulane or Houston make a coaching change. I wouldn't rule out Texas Tech making a change either. Tadlock has had a really bad year.
