Not going to happen. Guarding the 3 point line is not in the State DNA. Doesn't matter the Coach or the names on the jerseys historically.
Our shooters have to get better so we can make 3's and FT's. Then and only then, will State best the top teams in the SEC. We had 1 guy score in the 30's. That doesn't happen for the top teams. They have much better balance. We have guys that score 19 one game and 6 the very next time out.

So this definitely goes in direct contrast to your statement that guarding the 3 pt line is not in Mississippi St DNA. We literally were top 10 last year. We just sacrificed defense for offense when we traded Harris for Moore/Davis, Melendez for Jeffries, and Nwoko/Cam for Tolu. Add in to that we traded Kugel for Moore.
Isn't DNA a little older than Jans? I'm sure there are a plethora of coaches who have worn maroon skin jackets who couldn't get their charges to stay in front of the 3 point shooters. So are the past 2 years outliers? You said Jan's traded defense to get offense. From 8th to 258th is a hell of a bad trade.Quote:
