No, I said if we're lucky we'll get that next season. Since when is .240 10HR a great hitter? We need upgrades and not sure he will be that next season. Especially if defense falls off. The good thing is he's got two years and he's got power. We really need power numbers. Can Gotro make him better? Can his defense improve? State fans raised hell about bad defense at the corners before this year. We know we've got a crap ton of spots to fill. The question is can we get the big signees. Top programs are getting P5 transfers. When are we going to pull a top P5 position player? I think Parker will get his share.
Our hitting wasn't good this year. We need big improvements there. I'm ok with this guy I just don't think he moves the needle that much year one and that's how we recruit. At the end of the day, we need bodies too. How much can NIL buy when we need so many holes filled?
If I'm wrong it's no big deal. He hits .260+ come SEC time and can give us Highfill numbers in the power area, that's the hope. Or Hines without the Ks.
Did Lemons do something to Queef’s family? The blind outrage for everything is ridiculous. Lemons is MSU’s ONLY natty winning coach and he is BETTER than Cholk, Cohen and Cannizzaro. Get over it!!
If it's not lack of talent it's lack of coaching. Pick your poison.
That's the funny thing. There's no denying it either. We have next to nothing left on campus next year and our portal hauls have been pretty mid. Parker will go sign some guys. Gotro and Lemons will clean up the small school guys while TN and A&M etc will grab the big guns. I've already said I'm not for firing Lemonis this season. But people get so offended when I say he's average. I hope he changes my mind with better recruiting and wins.
Correct & there might not be one. Certainly not a Skenes. But there will be proven P5 and high end G5 guys that have faced good competition. Every move up in competitive is tough, I think you'd agree with that. Hujsak struggled to move up but this year found it. Yeager was a big success. Ledbetter was a little up and down but certainly not bad. That's why I keep saying average. We're signing guys that make us average too much. I still prefer a good solid HS class to develop and then fill holes with grab a great portal guy to get you over the top. Parker I'm confident can get player. He proved he can develop and folks have taken notice. It's time for Gotro to do something.
The baton will be passed to guys like Nolan Stevens, Dylan Cupp, Makhai Grant, and maybe Dante Nori and Henry Allen among others. That is a good core group to work with. I could also probably include Highfill and Loftin.
As far as the portal I've noticed the profile of the players we are recruiting is different. A lot better K/BB rations, some speed and some power- a lot of guys with 10 home runs who don't strike out a lot. What killed most of our rallies? Strikeouts. Lemonis made it subtly clear that the way he was going to improve the offense would be by recruiting more talented hitters and that is what is happening.
I just hope we can upgrade the hitting coaching and instruction to go along with these new players.
And when there is Lemonis won't get them. . . . . .
Lemons doesn’t deserve you losers as “fans”. He is the best baseball coach that has ever been employed by Mississippi State University hands down.
Update? Where are these other commits that were spoken of?
