He is the AD and is responsible for the success or failure of our athletic programs. So he has the authority to make coaching changes if he sees it is needed to benefit and make our athletic programs successful. Now money, etc, can be a factor but he has the authority. If he didn't have the authority, then I highly doubt he would have accepted our offer. I think a factor that could make it a more difficult decision is that Lemonis was our (only) coach who won a college world series, although we have regressed since then.
Why would anyone take the job without full authority? Why would we want to hire a guy that would allow himself to be hired without full authority? Seems like the person who would allow that needs to go as well.
