This new development could have merit. But it’s hard to believe that Cohen would meet with Joe and confirm his future without first meeting with Keenum and other decision-makers. I would think Cohen and Keenum would meet and agree on a plan of direction, have this plan blessed or amended by the power brokers, and then convey the plan to Joe. I don’t buy that Cohen (or any AD) would attempt to unilaterally give a controversial coach another year without system-wide support.
