I cant ignore how poorly coached and how poorly prepared we were. Also, we look to be the same or worse at every position on offense as of now. Maybe that changes the next 2 weeks.

I'm not asking this to be a debby downer or anything of that nature. Genuinely curious. Why have we went and got so many safeties? Maybe I'm wrong but haven't we signed 4 or 5? And I'm sure we payed every one of them. I could understand signing 3 + Womack. Seems like we have a bunch of money tied up in that position.
One thing I really like about KT is he doesn't turn the ball over a lot. He had one INT and that wasn't his fault- it was a tipped pass.
I just expect him to go through progressions adequately. If he can do that and continue to take care of the ball, we'll be pretty good. And honestly that drive in the bowl where he hit SanFrisco for a TD pass- that was the only drive where our o-line actually gave him time to do anything and I thought he looked really good when he actually had time. Maybe Matt Wyatt will give us a deep dive.
That said, KT won't really hit his peak until 2027 and that's when I think he and MSU are going to be really scary.
What did you really expect to change during bowl prep without significant player acquisition and no DC, and we were also without Isaac and I think Zakari was out?
I expected a shootout and that's what we got. We gave up a ST TD that hurt us and we got ourselves back into the game only for our defense to wilt on a shovel pass that should have gone for three yards max.
Eh. I think we're going to hope that Gayten gets better which he probably will and/or that one of Hill/Crosby can come in and contribute in a reserve role right away which they might be able to do.
I think we are being a little choosy because of Fluff but also because there are a couple of really good looking RB's in Mississippi for 2027 and 2028. Stacking the room too much might not be the best idea.
We lost a lot with Manning, Lanier, and Washington. Plus, as others have said the defensive scheme is very different. I love Womack and I think he plays and maybe even starts but it's good to have some guys that have some experience just in case he takes longer to adjust than we expect. And we need depth there anyway.
We need to be 6 safeties deep. And all 6 need to be interchangeable on where the line up so the opposing QB has to take longer to figure out who is the help guy. And 4 of the 6 need to be head hunters. Not in the targeting sense but not afraid to come up and smoke a RB. Remember how bad Skatebo punished our safeties! This guys were weak! Isaac was the only one who didn?t mind contact and he got hurt a lot this past year. Depth!!!
I will apologize to Phil Loadholt for everything I said about him if he can bring in Colorado OT Jordan Seaton. Seaton is the 4th ranked player in the portal and the number 1 OT in the portal. I will apologize for calling him Bozo the Clown
lets see how serious this outfit is.
Pay it!!
Saying we are better at QB is pure speculation that KT is going to grow by leaps and bounds during the off season. Did you watch the bowl game? I saw zero improvement. I was so excited about watching that game. I believed the hype. I thought he was going to show out. What it showed was that Lebby did the right thing playing Shapen all year.
We have to hope that KT turns it on this off season or the new guy takes over the position.
I agree
And here lies the problem, fan boy media treated like a proper source. Someday y'all gonna figure this game out, this clowns only real info just got fired. They are just as in the dark as the rest about this football team and staff, anything that come out of his suck is just conjecture. Now do we need this guy, more than likely, I'd say if he's a good fit and not a cancer do what we have to to get the guy.
Incoming freshman, Cooper Crosby has got that burst. He was impressive in the 7A championship for Gulfport. I know there is a large gap between highschool and the SEC but if he can pickup the offense and pass block he could become a great back. His talent was quiet noticeable on the field.
Agreed - I really like him. Got to see him play several times down here and didn't know why more schools weren't going after him.
ETA - I don't think he is a replacement for Booth. Booth was pretty damn special when he had his head screwed on straight. Our offense without him was clearly hobbled. I'd love to pick up a playmaker at RB, but we have holes on the line to fill.
Why was Booth off the field? I hate how no one talks about injuries anymore. Like, where was Shapen? Dude just noped out after he lost the starting job.
How are NILs paid? Is it upfront, lump some, or is it paid monthly, qtrly? Just curious, bc opt outs are complete bs in my opinion.
Thanks brother!
