The players didn't come thru with clutch hits, but the players that didn't come thru were there because Cohen totally ****ed this game up. First of all having Vickerson at the DH is just absolutely dumb as shit. How many times did he strike out and kill our momentum? Then losing Collins because we HAVE to put in Randolph to catch Lindgren(who sucked tonight too). What did Randolph do at the plate tonight when he got a chance? Struck out every freaking time he batted and failed to get the bat on the ball on a dumbass hit and run call that got Pirtle thrown out at 3rd. Momentum killer not to mention he didn't catch shit. That move alone I think cost us this game. We had the bases loaded in the 8th and the 9th. When the bases got loaded in the 8th, Walker K'd which is where Collins shoulda been, Vick K'd, and then our only hope Armstrong K'd(which is unusual). Then in the 9th we load the bases up again with one out and Heck pops up then Walker again ends it.
So the players didn't get the hits, but the coach and his management of the game is what had the players not in the game that needed to be there to have our best shot at getting those hits.
We needed to sweep this very average UT team. Instead we are in the hole again on a Friday like we started the SEC off with and will have to hope that Ross can once again come and get us a W tomorrow. Hopefully Cohen will set a good lineup tomorrow and not **** with it during the game so we will have a chance to have more than 2 hitters in a row that can actually hit the freaking ball!
I was so sick after the game I didn't listen to Cohen's post game. He say anything if substance?

Lol yes he is. Lingo wasn't a first rounder tonite.
And sometimes it rains
you as Mississippi State follows should realize by now that Cohen is not our answer to our head baseball coach. He is pathetic as a head coach. I have followed MSU baseball for 54 years and this is the most pathetic season I have ever folowred in the 54 years of MSU baseball. We are a horrible team. There is decention on this team and I do know if John knows how to solve it. I will not go back to watch this chatic display of baseball by Cohens coached team. I am in favor of looking at changing who is in charge and that includes our head coach. I am sorry to state this but I left early after the Ole Miss fiasco and vowed I would not go back until we change coaches. We are a sorry example of a baseball team. All you that think we are ok as Gene of Genes page has said are drinking the maroon koolaid we stink as a baseball team.
I'd say this, but he's mismanaged this team all season long. Armstrong gets on a hot streak... what does Cohen do? Platoon him with Vickerson... AFTER Vickerson has led off all year and has either K'ed or popped up. We had a new lineup every damn night and NONE of them included hitters. Instead of working guys like Garner and Randolph in at DH (since... you know... they were recruited to hit), we leave in the Vickerson experiment and switch them up every night instead of letting them learn and grow in a spot and making adjustments from there. We have had zero continuity this year, zero heart, and worst of all, this team has no idea who they are (ESPECIALLY at the plate) and no one to lead them, and it's strictly on Cohen.
LOL.
You say this is the worst MSU baseball team you've ever seen in 54 years... How quickly you forget the 2008 fiasco and the absolute joke of a roster Polk left for Cohen- not to mention the fact that he badmouthed Cohen every chance he got. People saying this is the "worst team in MSU history" are laughable to me. We're still going to make a regional and probably finish the season with a winning SEC record.
John Cohen is and will be our coach for the foreseeable future- you might as well accept that. Damn, the guy just took us to the national championship series LAST YEAR, which is something Polk never did with teams more talented than what we had last season.
