I think the rule is they can't be a "recruited player". Meaning if the kid takes an official visit to another school, he can't be a walk-on.

I don't have anything against him. I just wish MSU fans would realize that we have a national coach now and don't have offer the local home town kids just because they are home town.
Do Tuscaloosa HS, Baton Rouge, and Auburn HS residents feel like their colleges should offer the hometown kid?
I got tired of hearing about the kid to be honest. I feel like had he been from McComb, no one would've cared about him.
I feel the same way about ex players that everyone keeps pushing for coaching jobs on our staff. Unless they have the resume and have had prior success, I have no interest.
We're in the SEC for goodness sakes. Act like it
MSU is about to be a $130 mil per year athletic department yet some locals have trouble separating us from the local high schools
Nothing has changed with Rufus & MSU. I still think it's a pretty good chance he ends up with an offer & in this class.
Really good video here if you want to compare Alex Adams, Tulu, Harvey, & Walley.
Video actually makes me feel better about not getting Adams. He looks solid, but not special. I was actually really impressed with Walley here

It sucks, but if you want Adams, you've got to hope he doesn't qualify. He's all LSU otherwise.
Gotcha. Just stinks. I feel like had Leach had an entire year of recruiting him, he'd be ours.
LSU has no QB & a bunch of turnover. Sure they'll be good, but he's going to have to fight off 5* WRs for PT when he could play for Leach & catch 60+ balls per year and be pretty good
I wonder if LSU really wants Adams or if they're just playing the odds that he won't qualify?
