It was during or just before the storm but I don't think it was storm related. They reportedly experienced electrical problems soon after takeoff from Oxford and went down shortly afterward. It was a privately owned 10 seat jet.

What I saw said Scruggs flew with the pilot the day before. It didn't say if it was the same plane, but I would imagine it was given the Oxford take off.

Was it Scruggs' plane? I googled and it said his net worth is $1.7B so it easily could have been. That was a close call.
