Regarding Pinkell and the AD supporting the strike.....does this pretty much guarantee that they will never be considered for a job at another Power 5 program? They have come out against the university president and announced that they are ok with the football team going on strike, which means they are not practicing for their upcoming game, and if this drags out long enough, it could even result in games being forfeited. And considering the amount of money that the fans put into supporting their program, the amount of money that games bring into the local economy and the massive TV contracts, you are looking at a massive fallout....and there might even be some type of breach of contract involved with the TV deals.
If our players threatened to go on strike, I would expect our coach to make it very clear that they were free to protest and that he supported their right to do so, but that it would not be done at the expense of the football program and that any player that did try to go on strike would immediately lose their scholarship. I just think that it has to be made very clear that there is no circumstance under which going on strike is a viable option.
