Man, Rosebowl has just become our little ray of sunshine. And if he calls this a "bridge class" one more time I'm going to jump through the podcast and slap him. Not even sure who coined such a pathetic term. Yea, its a smaller class of signees by the numbers but that doesn't make the quality of each signee in the class any less important than '15 or '17. Bottom line, we need more high end talent in our program to consistently compete for anything in the SEC other than just making a bowl game.
My problem with Rosey is that he always has to pretend to know everything. And it blows up in his face a couple of times in the average cycle. When he doesn't know something -- he assumes the worst -- just like Brandon Bryant, Chris Jones, etc... Chris Jones -- who in reality only Farley got consistently correct among all of the MSU pundits in those crazy weeks...
My problem with Steve that as for someone who I believe loves MSU, because I believe he does, he also loves himself just a little bit more.
When someone like Bryant does something that makes him look bad, he then tries to take all measures necessary to make himself look better, MSU be damned.
He has been saying 3 out of 4 on the GTA kids, which is a safe prediction, and if one of them doesn't take an OV to MSU Im worried that he is going to make it a bigger deal than it is, because he has been telling folks, that it is a big deal. Since he has said its a big deal, he damn sure is going to make it a big deal. Just my thoughts.
Like I have said the entire time, I won't begin, the key word is begin, to worry about AJ until he doesnt take an OV to MSU. If he doesn't, I'll begin, once again the key word is begin, to worry. I still think he shows up this weekend. Call me crazy.
With staff turnover, Derrick Brown is no longer considered a Georgia lock. Tifwiw
For some reason I have a gut/hunch feeling we get Derrick brown
Some good news on the recruiting front, it looks like Bama will land Shyheim Carter a CB from Kentwood, LA. He was leaning to UGA, but it looks like Bama will get him. This is great news with Knott since they are pretty much the same player. I expect he will either commit this weekend or before his scheduled Bama visit.
He visits Bama next weekend.
If we can somehow pull knott, we're putting together a solid, young secondary...
Peters
Bryant
Mclaurin
Smitherman
Stamps
Knott

OL Stewart Reese possible visit Jan 22. I think been working on him for a while, IYOK can probably tell us more and confirm that. FSU lean.
What's the story on Reese's ranking? Has a ton of offers.

Wyatt just said on H2H that if AJ doesn't take an OV to MSU, he's not going there. His tea leaves say AJ to bama.
Back to Stewart Reese he's taking an OV to Syracuse this weekend, MSU on the 22nd, FSU on the 29th, & may squeeze a mid-week to Illinois. It's going to come down to does FSU have room. They have 2 OL ahead of him that lead for & if they close on them won't have room for him. He'd be a really good late pull for Hev & the OL.
Willie Allen next weekend. LSU wavering on offer? Just want to visit somewhere? Was suppose to go to Aub changed to us.
We'll know after this weekend what the deal is. He OV to LSU. I like him if you realize what he is. Everybody wanted him to be an instant impact day 1 guy. He's not that. He needs a RS year to get his body in great shape & learn pass protection. He's been over ranked. He's a low 4* not a top 50 or 100 player like he's been ranked. He can be a really good player in 2yrs IMO.
I'm wondering if LSU will actually withdraw their offer from an in state kid from John Curtis.
Moon this weekend. Hope we can get him sold with his families help.
Frank Wilson is leaving LSU, should help with New Orleans recruits, this year and next.
I hope everyone has had a wonderful day!
I've been away from the board most of the day, but have been marinating on something I'd like to run it by you guys. I thought about posting it in a new thread, but decided that any poster that really mattered would probably read it here anyway.
Hopefully this some encouragement & confidence to our recruiting.
Follow me here:
- The last few days we've heard rumors about everything. Rosebowl said this, Paul said that. My uncle's accountant said this, Yancy said that. Ole Miss fans said this, my barber said that. We've had posters predict that we get everyone on our board to posters predicting we only get on guy. So basically, I am making the assumption that overall nobody, except Dan Mullen, his staff, & the players know anything.
- I've always been someone that believes actions speak infinitely louder than words, & that looking at our staff's actions is potentially a better way to determine what's going than anything else.
- Here are my interpretations of Dan Mullen & his staff's actions.
- We currently only have 13 commits
- We are going to sign 22-23 players. So we need about 10 more players.
Where are all the offers? It seems as if there is no panic by our staff. Why hasn't Mason or others been offered?
My point is that, the actions of the coaches have me believing that they feel pretty good about our top targets.
Ifyouonlyknew, what do you think?
We must feel decent about our chances with some of these new OL prospects because we could've landed Genrle Williams had we wanted to correct? Instead we aren't pushing for him and appear to be ok with him going to Cal.
A nice rational statement. These have been few and far between lately. Not getting caught up in the minute by minute panic threads seem to have done you some good. Well done and well said. I too have thought all along that our staff must feel pretty confident about our remaining targets, otherwise we would be seeing a whole new batch of plan b or plan c guys lining up visits.
One thing about Steve Robertson. He is the most misquoted person around. Too many times I hear people on this board say that Steve said this or that. When I go look at the Scout board, I see that Steve said something totally different. So folks on here get their panties in a wad over something he never really said. If you honestly read what he said, then you will see that he has pretty solid info. Not perfect, but decent and solid info.
Just a page or so back a poster said that Steve said of Simmons "In the FWIW category, Rosebowl says as of today Simmons is UM/Bama". That is not at all what Steve said. He has stated that he thinks Simmons is between UM, Bama, and MSU. The question was Steve's opinion of where he would actually sign. To that question he answered UM or Bama. Huge difference that folks will run with and then say Rosebowl was wrong.
So are we sure bama won't take knott if they get carter? There's a ton of CBs coming in for carter to bama now
