I don't know where I made stuff up. Joe and his wife are happy in Oxford. I literally actually said it's not that they wouldn't be happy here. But to think he's going to leave Oxford and a 6 figure salary to come here and make 40K is also not believable. Joe may also go with Lane. There's that possibility too. Or.....what if he's the interim and they win a game in the playoffs? They may hire him to be the full time HC. There's a lot of factors other than just we're going to offer him and he's going to jump at it. If that was the case he would've taken the job in 2020.

There's no smokescreen. Some members of his family were in Gainesville yesterday and Baton Rouge today. They are not doing this for optics or smokescreens. Those are the two jobs that are open that he's interested in and so he's doing his due diligence on both.

If/When Texas comes open, and pending he hasn't accepted another job, I am sure he will try to throw his hat into the fray there.

Damn. He had family members in BR and GV? Wow. He is 100% leaving this time. There were a couple of LSU podcasters saying they had made big strides with Kiffin over the last week but I thought they were bullshitting.

I mean it's not rumor either. It's been confirmed by Florida, LSU, and OM media people. Members of his family, presumably Layla and probably Chris Kiffin's wife, flew to Gainesville yesterday and Baton Rouge today. LSU is most definitely in it. They put a FAT contract on the table to CAA and Sexton late last week.

I will just say this in regards to Lane. Accd to someone very in the know with Florida, Lane will take that job after the Egg Bowl and will not coach OM in the playoffs.

Now, I have been told this morning that LSU is much more in the pursuit than they originally thought.

However, I trust my Florida sources on this one a little bit more.

Yea.....he was. We literally had him hired and the Giants swooped in at the last second because Rhule took the Panthers job.

So unless Steve Robertson, David Murray, Paul Jones, Robbie Faulk, Charlie Winfield, and everyone else who said we offered him is wrong.....I think you may be mistaken.

I'm not saying he signed a contract with us, or even an MOU. But he was offered it. And all signs on our end pointed to him taking it. So much so that we started getting graphics ready and setting up for a press conference. Now maybe it was the ultimate fake out and he was using us for leverage, but we damn sure thought he was going to take it. I mean I know one person very well that was told to be ready to come to Starkville to be on staff. So you may know him personally, but I've seen the graphics and talked to someone who was going to be on staff. If you know Joe, then you should the person that was called to be on staff.
