At least if Hall goes to Auburn he lands at who was his leader all year.
What your saying is pretty much true. It is why we are never going to recruit better than we have been because the media don't like us, therefore the recruiting services don't like us, and every staff we get will have to deal with the same bullshit as the preceding ones. The negative perception, the systematic cheating, and the exceedingly ignorant people that infiltrate our recruiting footprint. The staff we have is a good recruiting staff and the kids responded, but we aren't able to close like we need to because of the aforementioned reasons. We will sign a top 25 class, or may sign a top 30 class.
Plumlee’s girlfriend goes where...
Ari and IYOK stayed far away from the boards tonight. You should have known what was coming
You know what's embarrassing? Getting pissed at our staff losing an out of state kid that you were just the other day clamoring on about how our in state kids should have more pride and stay home and go to our schools.
Now James, who is from Alabama, gets interest from his in state schools, delays his announcement, and our staff is the one that should be embarrassed? Wake up and smell the hypocrisy.
We basically lost our whole CB class....3 guys... it is a big deal. If you lost 3 big contracts at work the day before they were to close how happy would your boss be? I do think we move Witherspoon to CB and still have time to fill holes but yea this is a big miss.
We seem to struggle to get a lot of other teams commits on late visits but our guys tend to go on them all the time. Could be off but just an observation
Seems like they?re finding out what SEC recruiting is all about, even though they should be well prepared considering they skipped bowl game practice last year to recruit. Are they overwhelmed with having to do recruiting and bowl game prep at the same time? I can take guys going to Bama, but losing them to Auburn and Arky aren?t good for having successful seasons. They?re usually both swing games and determine our finish in the West.
You know it’s never good when IYOK and Ari are nowhere to be found. Not good at all
Damn. The sky must be falling the way some of you are acting. As if flips don't happen every year.
With competition decreasing at CB. How do we feel with Emerson?
If IF we pull Plumlee and Raydar I call today a win
Derick Hall signed with Auburn.
Auburn Media guy was talking with his family just before his signing, all smiles, I knew it wouldn't be good for MSU.
Raydar will sign with either LSU or the bears, Plumlee waits till February...
So we will sign no LB's, no CB's, no elite HS WR's or RB's. 2 of our 4 elite DL, 4 OL's including an elite OL (yea!) and 3 safeties including and elite safety (awesome!). We will sign 15 today and have a mountain to climb to land 7-8 of the 10 left to sign in the next seven weeks. Not a bad class but not 'Championship Standard' either. I hope to see Moorhead make some adjustments and clean things up for 2020.
This is why I don't live on the edge with recruiting. We have a good class hell excellent for MSU standards. Losing James sucks but that fight is not finished. Add Plumlee as another DB/S and possibly add Young in January I dont understand what the complaints would be.
As usual we will fill it in with a few projects and people that are cut loose by other programs its the way of the road.
I don't understand why we aren't signing Cunningham today. I realize he has a long way to go to qualify, but we clearly have the room available and I would hate to lose him in February. Oh well, I guess we know what we are doing.
But these guys were supposed to be recruiters. Apparently the previous staff handed last year to them on a platter. Oh well, maybe having Hughes back will pay off.
Fix everything? Nothing needs fixing, just improvement. That's why I don't understand when JoMo says we need to fix the culture.
So on one hand you say these guys are supposed to be recruiters so they should be doing better. But then when Joe Mo says the culture needs to be fixed, you don't listen to him? If he says it needs to be fixed then it needs to be fixed.
This class was always going to be hard for Joe Mo. These kids had known Mullen for 2+ years and Joe had to come in during the last half of their junior year and try and keep the ones we had and recruit the ones we didn't all in less than a year.
Next year's class will be much easier for him to recruit because of familiarity. In case you haven't noticed though, we pulled a 4 star DL from Tennessee, flipped Cross from FSU, and have the QB of the future from Virginia. We locked down some solid in state talent and also went out of state to fill needs. We may not even lose James either. So I'm not sure why everyone is burning this thing down.
Woodshedded. Good luck to our coaches finding replacements. I feel badly for them, but this is MSU recuiting, win or lose on the field. It's an unfortunate shame.
