I have talked to a much trusted source and on good authority, (my bucket in the garage), that State will sweep Auburn, UK, OM, and Mizzou to secure a last minute host spot. Lemonis will save his job and the dugout bucket for another season.
You can't go on a podcast and tell people two years a year ago that a guy is going to be fired and then when it doesn't happen expect to be taken seriously.
And if you do put that out there- you better be right when you put it out.
What happens if Lebby decides that Bumphis sucks as a WR coach and fires or demoted him? Then all of a sudden Robbie will turn on Lebby and how is that good for MSU in any way shape or form?
I mean they did turn on Leach when Leach "wouldn't hire" Bumphis. Which turned out to be false because it came out that Leach offered him RB coach but he turned it down. However, Brian has softened his stance on that in the last year. He even was critical of Bumphis in the first portal window. Again, realizes he's very fortunate to have the gig he now has and has stopped being so divisive.
Well, truth be told, he probably should have been fired 2 years ago after missing the SEC tourney two years in a row but I understand why he wasn't. If you are going to do a sports podcast though you are going to have to give opinions whether they are agreed with or not. I'm just glad we have some MSU podcasts available because I would rather hear discussion about what's going on with State athletics than.99% of everything else going on in the sports world. If we don't start improving in some of our sports though the apathy may get to the point where nobody is interested in hearing about MSU sports anymore. Then nobody will have to worry about anything our media guys say.
But if you are media you can just throw out there that someone is going to be fired without damn good sources and if you do throw it out there you better be right.
In the meantime Rosebowl was saying that Lemonis wasn't going to be fired. And you had people here saying that Lemonis wasn't going to be fired. So who had better sources?
He wasn't offering opinion. He was stating it as fact. And was wrong.
he has egg on the face due to being wrong
So you think StarkVegasSteve and me are both making up the same story?
The only "maybe" here is that Robbie learns a lesson. But that's a much bigger "maybe" than the "maybe" you just accused me of.
You are free to like Robbie. I mean people like wresting and it's fake BS too. At least most of the people that like wrestling realize it's fake though. You should apply the same when listening to Robbie.
good point
He was offering his opinion as fact. Inexperienced journalists do this. And when you're a journalist who has a podcast people are going to take your word as fact. Because they believe you are well sourced on it. Faulk is just not well sourced, which goes back to his strained relationship with the athletic dept. Lemonis hates him. Jans doesn't like him. Lebby doesn't think very highly of him and Selmon doesn't think very highly of him. And it goes back to the fan part of things. He's a fan before a journalist. And this is something that Hadad and Robertson have, to their credit, figured out. You either have to be like Robertson and sunshine pump and toe the company line or you have to be like Hadad and present the opposite point of view enough to seem unbiased. That is how you stay in the good graces of the university. This is why they don't let fans in press conferences because fans are emotionally invested in the outcomes.
