I take everything back I've ever said about Fitz. The stage isn't big enough for him and he's making good passes. He has no help around him.

The first td was a pick play. News flash, that is all they call. Every pass play in the red zone by them is a pick play. Every one of them. No idea why we do not run them.

I realize that they have been stocked the last few years with 4 and 5* players by cheating, but UNM shows no fear when playing bama and has either beaten them or came close the last 4 or so years. This lack of fear and belief that they can not only compete but win extends to their players and coaches. Under Mullen, we never even compete against bama, soon to be 8 years and counting. ULM always has that feeling and effort against us also and we will lose #3 in a row against them under Mullen even with Kelly gone. P.S. bama ball carriers must run 3.8 forties as Bryant can't catch them with his 4.2 speed. Ha!

True maybe we should copy their offense then during the Fitz era since he absolutely refuses to scan the field and continues to decide where he's throwing it before the snap. 100% of the time he does this.

Because we are called for pick plays. We didn't even call a pick play and the refs called it on us in one of the previous games this year. Trust me, against Alabama we would be called for it.

To be fair, Fitz is getting better about this. He still does it much to often.

It is a half the field read. But without those receivers and an well above average college QB that offense is a stinker. We shall see tonight.

They were dumb as shit starting Hurts this year to begin with. Blake Barnett fits that offense much better and I guarantee you Hurts doesn't transfer if he didn't get the starting job. I just wish a hubris decision like that by Saban would bite him in the ass which I think it will in the end. But they have so much talent that it really doesn't matter for most of their season.

Yes, there is this.....but they do hold on EVERY PLAY. Without those holds today we have at least three sacks that I saw, one probably for a blind side fumble. They are only up 30-0 instead of 10-7 because they hold on EVERY PLAY and NEVER get called for it (nobody expects every hold to get called).

Cooper Bateman would be a pretty big step down. They'd still be very, very good, but there's a reason why Bateman was 3rd string to start the year

I see why ole miss gives them such trouble. Pass plays have been there all day. We just don't have a QB or receiving crew that can capitalize. A good passing team would have 14-21 points on Bama right now. It'd be a shootout.

I thought you guys were gonna chill today!?!?! We had zero chance to win this game. Sure, I hate that Fitz is choking today and our defense has looked terrible, but I knew it would be bad. Don't let this game get you all worked up!!!!

Barnett should have started for them this year. Starting Hurts makes them have some glaring weaknesses on offense that LSU was able to exploit. I think Auburn will also exploit those same weaknesses as well. He is not a pocket passer and if you can make him one dimensional like that you shut Alabama's offense down.

Ole Miss getting Bama early in the year helps a lot. If they were playing them today, even with Kelly, it would be 30-10 at the half and 62-24 final. Ole Miss would score but only an Ole Miss fan would think they would be competitive with Bama right now.

He isn't getting better about it at all he is just throwing the ball more accurately. The refusal to stop deciding where he's going pre snap is alive and well. He is refusing the coaching right now. I like Fitz, he's a tough kid, he is super fast and he has a great arm thus why I am so frustrated with him right now because he keeps refusing to listen to the coaching. He's got tons of work to do this off-season. Can we get him one of those virtual reality QB things so he can just watch and read plays for 6 straight months. Please

Sure but I think the holding not called every play will be called on Arkansas thus negating some of the plays you see so far this first half.

Jackie said that you had to be good enough to beat the refs and the other team, we aren't, apparently against many teams this year, (see USA, BYU, and KY, and these games were lost on many plays not made throughout the games, not just the last play).

I think Ole Miss does some things in the way they practice that allows them to operate against Bama. OM runs the hurry up offense, but it's not the actual hurry up offense that get's to Bama, it playing a team that can execute & operate when the game speeds up & chaos ensues, that gets to Bama.

Bama makes you play faster than your normal comfort zone is. It's like a hitter that usually faces 88 mph pitchers going up against a 95 mph pitcher. It's not that the kid can't hit 95 or that he's not talented enough to do so, it's that he never faces it & isn't adjusted to the speed.

Ole Miss practices & plays a style of football that allows them to adjust to 95 mph FBs very quickly. Mullen will have to change the way he practices throughout the year if he wants to ever beat Bama. You must develop a team that is comfortable playing fast
