Maybe. The thing with McMullen is that he's 58 years old or so. I'm not sure UVA will go the first-time head coach route with a coach that old. If McMullen were to get that job, then to be quite honest, Jake Gautreau's reputation in college baseball is a lot better than it is in the Mississippi State fanbase right now.
