I am not at all in the know, but the word I heard is that this is his first year in the position and his stock has risen late in his senior year.

He is comparable to Norwood. He has speed and moves(quick twitch). He doesn?t have offers for a few reasons. One this is his first year playing TB and didn?t really do the camp scene so his tape is his only RB film. Second a lot of schools had already gotten verbals from RBs. He is an underrated stud
Not claiming the same level hands and athleticism, but in body type he seems more like a Reggie Bush type. He may end up at slot wr playing more of a Deebo Samuel type role at SC (who was also a 3 star prospect from a small town and was the same height and weight).
Hard to tell much because of the level of competition, but he does show excellent balance and athleticism on his film.
He seems worth a swing, and also does not seem like a plug and play rb prospect.
I could see Witherspoon getting moved up to a four star after the MS/AL all-star game.
Bama has a RB commit from one of the best high school programs in the country and they are in it with the big RB from IMG. They aren't ever going to take an RB rated like Weatherspoon because they will always get big time recruited ones.
Auburn doesn't have that big time RB on their board really but I can't imagine they will go after Weatherspoon. Auburn and Alabama can afford to chase stars because they are big time programs in fertile recruiting territory, especially Auburn.
Weatherspoon is the kind of kid that can come to an MSU and really do good things because they are underrated but not high enough in star rating to get a serious look from the big boys.
Look at Errol. Both Bama and Auburn whiffed on him. But he was an 88 overall. Bama will almost never take a kid like that at LB.
Bell ringing
And it begins.
Doesn’t effect Weatherspoon’s offer, I believe
If we were to get both of these cats, I would bet one of them ends up at slot. Either has the athleticism to make that work.
Alright cross go ahead and flip tomorrow night.
They expect Kylin to leave after next year.
This also should keep Murphy on the defensive side of the ball. I was told that if no RB was taking that we didn’t think could be an SEC back Murphy would have been moved to RB this spring. And he still may just to get a look.
We will still take Wspoon
I think there is a lot of pressure on the coaches to land a highly ranked back in the 2020 class.
If Kylin is able to do the things Barkley did in this offense this wouldn't shock me. Would definitely put pressure on to land multiple 2020 RBs because Walker would be a senior going into the 2020 season. Probably why we will continue to pursue all legitimate RB options this year.
I simply love what I am seeing from this coach and the words from the players and the recruits!
This ain't the old staff out there recruiting fellas. It's a new era in State recruiting. Same ole same ole is dead and gone. This staff knows what they want and are hard workers. Expect to finish strong!
And the year after the new hire is always the toughest. This group has been in contact with a lot of our old staff for a couple years. Then in the last year everyone they know at that school is gone.
We have done a very good job at bridging that gap quickly. If Moorhead puts together a Top 20 class this year that would be insanely impressive.
Fact... we have 5 RBs right now.
2 graduate this year.
1 graduates next year.
1 could be a draft next year.
That leaves us with 1 back on this team. Rivers(a walk on). For anybody to remotely complain about a 5 star recruit that just committed to us.... Come on.

WOW! Look at all of the positive messages on that kid's feed. You don't see that alot these days... Even from Michigan fans!
