Amazing how we let some piss ant school that is averaging giving up 14 runs a game in this regional hang around like we are.

One more out and then bring Sims in for the 7th, 8th, and 9th...

For all the hype this staff got early on, they are VERY pedestrian. At best.

We act like Sims is a Nuclear code that we can only use if we truly are at the end of times

If this guy gets on go to Sims. If not keep Preston for the 7th (until a runner gets on). Sims for sure in the 8th.

Bringing him in after one out pretty much admits you made a mistake not already bringing him in, as I don't see the difference between 3.1 and 3.2 innings pitched. I would have thought he could give us 3.2 innings no problem. I know that's longer than he has been going, but doesn't seem like that much.

Should've brought in Sims not PJ. In the past now.

Start PJ in the 7th until one runner gets on base then bring in Sims. If a clean 7th, Sims goes 8-9.

Every time I turn on an Arkansas game Kopps is pitching....meanwhile we use Sims once a month

And here's the deal. If he can only pitch 3, that's fine. He doesn't have to record the last out. That was the high leverage situation he's made for.

I don't get why we've put Sims in bubble wrap. Like, being careful and not over extending him is one thing. But we're going so far beyond that.

Also, he pitched 3.2 vs argubly the best lineup in college baseball...Arkansas. Gave up 0 runs.

Yep, you bring in Sims pretty high chance its still 6-3 or maybe 6-4 at worst.

I thought about agreeing with this but Sims should be able to do 3 innings. If we score a run I will go with Preston. Dont want a solo shot.

About time to bring in the hammer, unless we score a bunch this inning.

Our offense is pedestrian as well. Campbell has given up double digit runs in every game they've played so far.

Yea, I really don't get the obsession with having a guy like Sims close out a game. I get it in a three game series where you want to make sure you can solidify a win when you pitch him, but it seems like if you let Sims give you three good innings pitched there, that would let your batters swing free and hopefully build a bigger lead for if and when you need to replace sims. Worked out ok I guess and I'm not too worried about our batters choking, but I think it would have been better if we had sims pitching and our batters starting the 7th knowing that they have a three run lead and practically guaranteed two innings of batting before having to worry about Campbell cutting into the lead.
