Yea he’s gone
I thought he was in Oregon?
Think Oregon was yesterday
Will Cohen match it?
Charlie Strong come on down if Arnett leaves.
What's Mason doing? Maybe he'd like to be a DC again.
With Arnett shopping all of these schools..... It looks like he's gone no matter what. Who's next up?
Anyone who shops themselves around like he is after their first year as a DC is as good as gone the next time their stock is ever on the rise. I get that it must be a thrill to realize that one's earning potential is entering absurdity and want to strike while the iron is hot, but I can't recall any coach publicly selling his services like this since Dern. At a certain point it becomes a show of disrespect to your current employer, supporters, and kids who depend on your guidance.
There are some good DC out there in P5's. Tulsa runs a 3-5-5. I am not worried but it is aggravating to have a new DC every two years. I guess that the price we pay for having good defenses.
Whoever we hire will have to be replaced next year as well. Might as well accept it.
I'll be surprised if he goes to LSU. Coach O wants to run a pro style 4-3 defense because that is what he tells recruits. Arnett has shown what his system can do with solid talent, I'm not sure why O would screw it up, but I'm not sure he could help himself.
Kevin Steele would be my first call if Arnett leaves.
Not sure why Steele isn't LSU's 1st call. If I had LSU's personnel, I'd want the proven DC. I know arnett was really good this season, but Steele has been good a long time
I agree that’s it’s amazing that of all the great defensive coaches out there that a 1st year DC that had a good, not great season is this getting this many interviews at blue bloods.
That or he has a great agent that schools want to maintain a good relationship with. I think he’s a star in the making but he’s go the Joe Brady effect going on right without the championship ring
Also add that yes I’d call Steele ASAP and tell him we are interested if Arnett leaves. I’m sure he’d love to stick it to Auburn every year
Ha as I posted last night...he gone.
He's gone if they pay him. There's not a question whatsoever about it. LSU struck out on a couple guys and he's it now barring a money issue.
Texas DC is still open too...
LSU is a top 10 job - issues or not and the NCAA is so weak I think they’ll get a small slap on the wrist.
If they offer he will get filthy rich and have top end talent so even if in 2 years if he hates it there he will be able to anywhere he wants if they perform on the field. Let’s not forget he just saw how LSU poached two key recruits last minute. If he didn’t know before the difference between the has and the has nots, he knows now.
