Chuck saying 4 yr probation, 2 yr bowl ban, 13 scholly?s.
He?s been wrong before.
If it?s 13 schollys then it is open season. Let the games begin
Yea.. everyone wait on the orrical release...why would they lie now? well.. it wouldn't be the hugest surprise.
Ole Miss has received a two-year bowl ban and multiple scholarship restrictions. Show causes for every coach. Details soon.
8:54 AM - 1 Dec 2017
They should be thrilled. 13 schollys is light.
Multiple scholarship restrictions seem more than 13.
I'm sure its an additional 13...
He failed to say if it was 13 schollies a year for how many years or 13 total.
I'm thinking this is more reality... All of this is in ADDITION to self imposed so:
3yr Bowl Ban
24 scholarships
Show Causes
4 years probation
Sports equivalent of the Steinle verdict. Might as well start selling NCAA cheating licenses.
If that doesn?t mean 13 PER YEAR then it will mean the end of the NCAA and open season for recruiting
Here's what I can gather...
4 years probation
2 year bowl ban (2017 and 2018)
24 total scholly's
monetary fine
show causes for all coaches named in NOA
For the short term this ruling is good for them. In the long term it?s horrible for them, and all the other have nots to some extent. If those asshats think they are gonna outbid the nig boys after these types of penalties, they don?t have a brain. Well, I think we?ve already established that.
Something that Chuck didn't say that I have seen was vacated wins
Gentlemen, in the article it specifically says:
"a total scholarship reduction of 13 over a period of years. That's in addition to the 11 over four years that Ole Miss self-imposed, which already meant three or four fewer scholarship players per year."
Per sources, Ole Miss received a 2-year bowl ban, lack of institutional control, head coach responsibility, 3 years probation, $179,797 penalty, 13 scholarships over 4 years (I don't know if that's additional or what), show causes for Saunders (8 years), Vaughn (5 years), Kiffin (2 years), Farrar (5 years), vacated wins, public reprimand and disassociation of all involved boosters.
If LOIC and head coach responsibility really stuck, and Freeze really skated a show cause - What the literal 17?
Well add in the other future self imposed scholly reduction due to we will blackmail, tape and sue new recruits. That is already hurting them more than the NCAA stuff.
So is the 2 years in addition to the 1 self imposed?? If so that?s basically a death penalty.
What the actual 17? This doesn't even seem remotely possible. How can the guy that brings a recruit in to talk with a booster and gets Head coach responsibility, also not get a show cause?
"Current Ole Miss assistant coaches Derrick Nix and Maurice Harris, avoided show causes, as did former Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze, according to sources."
Godfrey article has been updated:
An additional bowl-ban year (2018).
Because of that total two-year bowl ban, NCAA rules state Ole Miss players are now free to transfer elsewhere without sitting out a season.
Probation running concurrently with current probation for a total of four years.
Financial penalties.
A total scholarship reduction of 13 over a period of years. That?s in addition to the 11 over four years that Ole Miss self-imposed, which already meant three or four fewer scholarship players per year.
Every coach named in the NCAA?s investigation has received a show-cause (essentially an NCAA blackball for a period of time). That doesn?t include new head coach Matt Luke, who wasn?t named. Former assistant David Saunders? show-cause runs for eight years. Former staffer Barney Farrar faces five. - Source: Godfrey article
So.... there is that. Looks like we all should be opening our pocket books now. 24 scholarships is next to nothing over 4 years. So instead of 85 they are allowed 79 for the next 3 years? that seems easy. Might as well cheat from here on out. Wish we would have paid the money for Cam now.
Well the matrix doesn't mean a single thing then.
Move on with it.
I think the NCAA's release at 10:30 will give the whole story, which OM is avoiding at this time. Can't see Freeze not getting a show cause or not being charged with LOIC.
Why us everyone getting so worked up over what an OM writer says. Nobody knows anything until the NCAA makes its announcement.
They're leaving something out. This is for the sheep. They're putting the best face they can on this before it goes public. They did the same thing with the first NOA.
Mark Schlabach says Freeze is getting a show cause:
Former Rebels coach Hugh Freeze, who resigned for off-field issues in July, also received a suspension and show cause from the NCAA for failure to monitor his staff, although the length of the suspension and specifics of the show cause weren't immediately known.

Screw the cheating stuff people- a 2 year bowl ban is a stiff damn penalty. That is going to cost them recruits and some transfers also
24 scholarships on aggregate is a body shot.
Im sure it?s true, I figured if it was good news OM would get it out early. They got off extremely light, theyll be back in 3 or 4 years. Unreal
The talking heads are talking about the lost bowl game money. That dont mean shit to OM, they?ll have that money replaced in no time
They got hit pretty hard. They’re going nuts up here this morning.
