I feel good about Lebby and future, but seeing how Arky shut the DOGS run game down ESPECIALLY on first down, I?m sure Georgia will do that and then some. Saying that, while the receivers aren?t perfect I haven?t seen this many REALLY GOOD receivers at Dogtown since ....well it?s been a LONG time.....GO DOGS!!....
The OLine is not strong enough to beat UGA, but I think having a home game will make it closer. I am thinking UGA wins around 31-21. That being said, with Pribula getting hurt our chances to beat Mizzou are much better than I initially thought. I usually don?t get good feelings about games but I just feel like we are going to win the Egg this year and get to 6-6 and a bowl game.
If we attack the middle of the field like we did for three quarters against Texas this offense is almost unstoppable.
You attack what the defense gives us. Tx played it different than Arkansas all night for the most part. Ark lined up from the kick determine take away the run. We still found a way. We have been pretty decent at taking what the defense has been giving us all year.
I agree with you. I love the deep ball more than anybody and I want this offense to keep taking shots downfield but man we dont use the middle of the field like I think we should. But when we do, we get positive plays almost every time. It ended up working out but on the 4th and 7, Shapen had Evans wide open on a slant route across the middle. Thank God Thompson made a hell of an athletic play to get turned around and make that catch. I wish Shapen would use the middle of the field more. It's there for the taking.
Where do yall do your betting? I’m looking for an app or something that’ll allow me to. Or do you go to casinos?
This is a middle tier Mark Richt type Geargia team. Not great by any stretch. Not poor either. They win on depth. Our problem is we can't block a Jackson Academy varsity team from the 1980s. Aggressive plays on offense have to happen to keep us around and we've done that pretty much every week.
Georgia defense doesn't scare me. Hell, there's only a few SEC teams that play defense anymore.
We only attached the middle of the field in the 4th against Ark. we may want to start dialing up some of those with the TE too.
Some of that is probably coverage based. If we see a lot of cover three it's hard to throw deep in the middle of the field so we attack outside the numbers. I might be wrong but if I remember correctly on KT's TD pass they had 8 in the box and basically a man free look so the MOF was open and we could access it.
Also, Lebby's offense LOVES switch concepts and deep go balls and that's really just one of the hallmarks of the veer and shoot to me. We're trying to spread people way out to essentially isolate a corner on our receivers and then we're going to attack deep and hopefully hit it. We're probably going to always see a lot of that as long as Lebby is our coach.
If Reese is back, I think that changes a lot.
Looking at the stats, they're a good defense no matter what but they aren't quite as good defending the pass. My instinct says let's just play our game and with Shapen and team feeling confident and see what they can do.
One interesting thing is they are last in the SEC in sacks and TFL's so they're the ultimate bend but don't break defense.
To your point, on KT touchdown run, Traore was wide open for a TD in the middle of the field.
On our last play that was a TD to Evans, Traore was open in the middle for an easy first down and maybe a TD if one guy misses. It probably was the safer option to guarantee the first down tbh. Evans had to break a tackle just to get the first down. Not complaining though.

Thanks for that info man. I'm not going to act like I have alot of football knowledge when it comes to coverages and schemes cause I don't. I'm definitely more of a baseball guy but there is nothing more that I love than watching college football. I played a little football but not enough to act like I know alot lol now baseball is a different story for me. But definitely makes sense on what you're saying. I love Lebbys offense so far and I love the deep shots downfield. Nothing better than when we hit on them!
This is a very intriguing part of this game. If you give Shapen and our WR time, they can't stop us. Now UGA got sacks on UT by blitzing anyone other than DL.
I think we must have a game plan with KT in it to have a chance at upset Sat. It sets up well. We are at home, confident after a big win, KT showed what he can do, and UGA has the pressure not us and 1100am kick. Blueprint for an upset.
I live an hour from a state that has mobile gambling legalized and I travel so much for work that I'm often in a state that has it legalized.
The problem is when I'm drunk on the weekend in a state with mobile gambling. Whoooooo boy. Thank god lebby came through for me because I would have deserved the timeout Scoob would have given me Saturday night if we lost.
resources are available for those in need.
The tunnel screens a WR screens were a staple of Lebby?s offense at Ole Miss but they had big WRs that could block. I remember them throwing 5 straight WR screens for 8 or 9 yards and once the defenses came up to stop it, he would hit you over the Top OR, the middle of the Red Sea would part and the QB would run for 20 yards! Unfortunately that WR screens and most everything we run horizontally fails. So we are 30 to 35% successful on deep passes of 40 yards or more and that has been enough to beat USM, ASU and Arkansas.
at 9.5 now/ Thats good enough for me.
Hate to say it but I love UGA -9.5.
