Damn, this sucks so far. Bring back the BCS
Boise is trying to put up a fight. I thought they were going to get run out the stadium before halftime for a while there.
But, it's still pretty obvious Penn State is the better team.
Horrible no call on pass interference by Penn St WR
Boise is still a lot better than SMU or Indiana and ASU is too. 12 teams is too many and going to 8 would be best
They dont care if the games are competitive or not. They have extra games on TV making money and creating value.
The playoff will only expand from here- not contract. This is about TV money games making bank. 16 teams is probably the next move
All programs like Boise, SMU, and UCF have been asking for is a Fair Chance! Well they get one with this format. And so far are proving what everybody has been saying. They don't belong.
I told her that........
Lmao
CFB expanded the playoffs and somehow made the product unwatchable. Hey you idiots, if you're dead set on automatic bids, at least don't give them byes with high seeds
But it also gives us a chance. An MSU, Arkansas, Baylor, NC State type program can have one of those once every 10-15 year seasons where we could go 10-2 and get into the playoffs and hang that banner that can help you recruit for a decade.
Missouri is experiencing that right now and just got unlucky that their window for that opportunity hit last year instead of this one.
If the goal is having a format to produce the most competitive games then they should do this:
Do away with auto seeds, byes and home fields and the games will be legit. Home field in NFL is fine because the talent gap is minimal. Home field in college is way too big an advantage.
16 teams seeded 1-16
1st round- 8 games (Reliaquest, Citrus, Texas, Gator, Outback, Las Vegas, Alamo)
2nd round- 4 games (Peach, Cotton, Orange, Fiesta)
3rd round- 2 games (Rose and Sugar)
4th round- CFP championship
If the priority is money and getting the most eyeballs on the product this is the answer.
Not if the goal is having competitive games. I get my scenario will never happen but should if you are trying to get the most intriguing competitive games.
It is why March Madness is the best tournament of any sport hands down because it strips away all the bullshit and makes you prove it on the court.
And they would have the easier path because they would be playing the worst team the higher the seed they are
Boy, that DPI on the long pass is questionable. I thought offensive player slowed down to push off
Arizona State doesn't want to hear about not belonging. Hell of a job hanging in after a bad start.
I owe the playoffs an apology... this is a great game
Arizona State has outgained 442-210 and is +1 on turnovers.
And just like that... no change should happen to this format outside of expansion and giving every conference winner a guaranteed ticket. 24 teams is the right volume for 130 imo. And no one can ever complain again that they were unfairly excluded. Idc if it means a few more dud games. You might get a game like this. More football is fun. This is why you play the games.
I remember HomeDawg saying ASU wasn?t any good after our game and Cooter saying Skattebo sucks also after our game. This team is fun to watch. Can?t believe we somehow got so lucky to play Texas, UGA, ASU, and Ole Miss on the road this year. When you look closely, Lebby had us in those games for most part.
Texas is gonna win, but good game
ASU is looking to be the main team in the big 12 for a long time. They found a great coach who is at his dream job and from Arizona. They will have a good team for awhile
lol at Texas. If they somehow survive, start manning.
Hell yeah! Let's go Sun Devils!
I bet this game is a blowout if played in Austin
that check cleared.
