any one care to list the players we got out of the portal and their projected position? Thanks
3B Gehrig Frei – North Alabama...expected to be the starter at 3B
1B Reed Stallman – Campbell....really good power but his BA was low/supposedly had alot of bad luck this past season
RHP/1B Noah Sullivan – USC Upstate...more likely to hit than pitch altho could help in relief
OF Ace Reese – Houston...expected to play in the OF
SS Sawyer Reeves – The Citadel...expected to play 2nd unless Dirtbag returns then he will be the utility guy for the IF. D1 rated him one of college baseball's Top 50 SS back in March
RHP Jacob Pruitt – Indiana State- expected to battle for a weekend spot
RHP Travis Smith – Kentucky- expected to battle for a weekend spot
RHP Chase Hungate – Virginia- expected to be the set up guy or closer
Thanks. It will be interesting if Hines and Mershon both return. Need a CF.
They are now in the middle of Round 14 and neither drafted. Dirtbag is coming back to college- dont forget he entered the portal. Bidding will now begin. Charlie got to do work.
Hines is ****ed. He needs to return- get some NIL- and have a big 25 to get drafted by a decent franchise. He's not getting much bonus money at this point regardless
Travis Smith drafted in the 15th round
I may be on crack- could have sworn I saw it
He didnt. Thank goodness.
We should get both of them back now
NSF, Mershon goes to the Angels in the 18th.
Dang, Schuekle drafted.
Things aren't looking as good as I'd hoped with the portal/draft. We got some holes to fill and some shuffling to do.
I was told Mershon wants north of 850k to sign. Doubt he gets that.
Hines is back according to Steve

Yep Hines is coming back
Hearing Mershon will be back, but as always that could change. Let's hope
We've got a good 3B transfer, and a solid OF transfer. So with Mershon and Hines and Chance (actually pretty good in SEC play) we're in need of an OF and a 2B. Between Pulliam/Cupp/that other transfer, you have to think we'll have 1 of them pan out for 2nd. Downs is back right? That should be a .300 hitter with 10 homers at DH. If Highfill comes back strong that's another hole in the lineup solved.
So an OF is likely all we'll need to fill with a subpar player. Vs this year where we had holes at 2B, 3B, DH, and C, that's a big step forward for the offense. Defense should stay strong.
Pitching is uh... so that Indiana State transfer is a starter, but the other pitchers seem like they aren't starter caliber. So we need big jumps from Ligon, Pico, Black, ect to field a rotation and definitely can't survive a major injury.
We might have to win in the exact opposite way we did this year
Mershon’s number was 800K. He gonna sign in the 18th round for 200K? That would be beyond stupid
3B should be fine between Frei and the Citadel transfer.
Pico de Gallo looked like a weekend guy down the stretch once he got healthy and his strength back. He had 4-5 teams contact him and try to steal him this off-season. He’s a Dude
He's not getting anywhere near what they expected. If he signs a pro contract it's just strictly because he wants to start pro ball. He's selling himself short though, because he's still got leverage. He could make more in nil this year then what he's gonna get offered. He needs to comeback and make some good nil and then get drafted higher next year. He could do himself better for sure.
Exactly. What he gets offered now will be there at worst next summer

Angels drafted alot of pitching in the Top 10. They gonna spend some money
