Thank you, i forgot about that. I think it's Hud vs. Brian Harsin from Arkansas State.
Basically the Sun Belt championship game is happening tonight...
For those who haven't watch ol Hud this year. You will find that they (he and Jay Johnson - OC) like to USE A GOOD BIT OF MOTION TO DISGUISE PLAYS. THEY USE SOME TIGHTENDS AND HBACKS TO HELP WITH BLOCKING. THEY THROW TO THE TIGHTEND, THEIR WRS DO A GOOD BIT OF BLOCKING. THEY'VE GOT A BIG BACK THAT LIKES TO RUN STRAIGHT AHEAD TO THE GOALINE. yea just shit that we need to be doing more of. Also, they have some smaller backs that they like to throw to - like a lot of screens and wheel routes. (hmmm maybe that would be a good idea with LaDarius Perkins - vs. running him up the middle).
It's 5-10 passing plays ran out of a bunch of formations - nothing hard to learn. We're too damn complicated. Hack said something to me today that is true. The top OCs in the game right now??????? former HS coaches that either brought their "simple to learn" plan to college -
Hugh Freeze, Gus Malzahn, Chad Morris and you can throw ol Hudspeth in there as well for adapting and making it easier to load in new players and succeed.
You can add Art Briles to that list as well. He spent 10 or so years as a high school coach in Texas before going the college route.
Hud's team looks pretty damn good early.
Ark St got the ball first, but the Hud Cajuns got 100+ yards in the 1st and 10 points. Not bad.
Hud's team is pounding the Red Wolves. 17- 0 with 10 to go in the 2nd quarter. Weren't we on Alonso Harris but He had grade issues or something? He looks good tonite.
Hud is 8th amongst active coaches in win percentage and is the highest ranked non-BCS coach.
