Those stats are per capita. There are almost twice as many people living just in Houston, TX than there are people in the entire state of Mississippi. That's part of why Texas, California, Ohio and Florida have so much talent. They have a lot more people and a lot more big cities were black people (the majority of highly rated athletes) live.

Yeah you might want to mention that's likely basketball and football only.

This is why Dan needs to own the Dandy Dozen with a couple of others thrown in each year. At one time MS was the leader in players in NFL per capita.
