I'm rooting for Iowa. The JT Garcia kid's mom has pancreatic cancer and is in the stands cheering. They were interviewing her (last night I think) and he hit a bomb during the interview. I hope that kid has a tremendous tournament. He just struck out, but he's 3-6 so far and they're beating Kentucky right now.
Japan. Those poor kids have to travel thousands of miles to play in a hostile place

I'm in a fantasy league in which you take teams from multiple sports (16 in total) and how those teams finish their seasons is how you score points.
LLWS and College World Series some of the most fun baseball to watch.
Great game right now. Tied going into the bottom of the 6th (theybonlynpkay 6 for those that don't watch regularly).
I agree. CWS and LLWS are my two favorite baseball tournaments by far. I watch more LLWS games than I do in the SECT.
I love MLB but if you could get MLB players to play with the emotion and attitude of the little leaguers and college players it would be even better. It's just so much fun to watch at this level.Quote:

Here's a list of reasons why:
It makes the parents think youth baseball is even more important than they already do
These rules for kids that age are ridiculous
The umps don't even get paid
The coaches at mic'd so they hafta act like they never yell and cuss at these kids
It makes uneccessary celebrity out of a 12 yr old
Undo pressure a 12 yr old
Somebody's gonna become the goat of the losing team on national tv
And finally: these aren't anywhere close to the best 12 yr old teams in the country! Just the best that play "little league" cuz the best players and teams play closer to a real brand of baseball at that age.
It happens every year so this year which team is passing off a 23 year old as a 12 year old?
I don't like it either. I think the LA team has a kid that has a full 80s porn stache.
SO MUCH THIS!!!!!! I haven't watched it really this year I did catch some of Mexico verses Italy. My oldest son was watching it(he's 13 and plays a lot of baseball) anyways i hear him say oh my gawd they suck! I sit down and watch it for a little while and yes both teams weren't very goodQuote:

I have a friend who coached his son's team in the LLWS. They umps don't get paid, the teams have to pay for the travel, food, lodging, etc. Where does the money from the concessions, tickets, paraphernalia, and TV go? Oh, I'm sure the make grants to LLs across the country. But I'd bet the execs are very well paid with lots of perks.
Dang dude relax. I do agree with your last line though. Most of these kids from America play 12U AA. For those that don't know, there is a 12U AAA and 12U major division. A 12U major team would smoke these teams.Quote:

I think the bigger problem with LL rules as compared to other entities like USSSA, is safety. The field dimensions are a joke. Way too short for that age. Also the pitching mound being only 46' is ridiculous. Of course they are doing it so they can tout that these kids are throwing a "MLB equivalent" 94 mph pitch. But, for safety reasons, having these 13 year old kids who are 6' 200 pounds throwing at 46' is just unfair and unsafe.
