It sounds to me like they are going to wait until January 5th and his trial to see what happens and go from there. I think Freeze doesn't know what to do at this point because he can't rely on Ole Miss lawyers to sweep this under the rug- and that probably isn't going to happen. Cheezburger saying that Buchanan is probably going to start anyway makes me think that:
1. They are going to "punish" Kelly if he makes it to campus by making him the back-up. Of course, they're going to make it pretty damn clear to Kelly that he is going to actually be the starter and it's a PR move before he sprays down the IPF with his AK-47.
2. In the event that Kelly doesn't make it, they're going to make it sound like it's not really a big deal that he's not there anyway.
