That's the only way it makes sense to me.

Roll Tide and Hotty Toddy are easily two to the dumbest slogans in all of college football. At least Hotty Toddy, allegedly, has a meaning. Roll Tide is just something a bunch of dumb rednecks came up with.

I prefer as someone said:

Roll Tears Roll

"Row Tied Row"

The Crimson Wave

started with a newspaper article calling their OL a crimson tide of elephants or some crap I believe. So at least it does have an actual origin. I still don't know where hotty toddy came from.
