OT - Grill

recommendations on a good solid grill? I dont want a green egg or spend a fortune. I only cook for 2, well 1.5 with how she eats. I want a charcoal grill that I can get really hot and will last. Doesnt have to be huge. It will also be on a patio without covering. I guess I could roll it into the garage if need be.

I mainly do steaks and veggies. I dont really do much else.

Edit - My neighbor has a weber and he likes it a lot but he cant cook for shit....so Im hoping it is just him and not the grill

you prefer the convenience of gas or taste with charcoal?

Im all charcoal

I enjoy my weber. And they are about $50-60 so that is good.

Dahmer watching sesame street proud. Seriously. They can be manned with charcoal (the real stuff preheated).

Pizzas, turkey, ....unbelievable. well worth the money

Go for a weber. It's all I cook on. Really, though, any kettle grill will hold the heat well.

Weber hands down

get a bubba keg. Like the green egg, but easy to move around.

the komado imitation green eggs are good too, but the ceramic grills are so heavy you'd better never plan on moving it.

Dp loves his Green Egg like it's a family member

I have a large webber and wish I had a green egg. Charcoal burns out too fast. Maybe the grill is too big. Maybe they don't make charcoal like they used to.

Anyway, look at Bayou Classic, a Mississippi made green egg clone at a cheaper price.

Depends on what you want to spend.
I have a brinkman smoker and as chargriller with a side smoke box. I like both and can grill or smoke very effectively with either.

I hear there is an accessory available for Green Eggs which automatically adjusts the vents to hold whatever temperature you set.

The sidesmokebox to use for Hams, pork shoulders, and etc is my next purchase. C34 will be upgrading by this Fall and I'm gonna "live and die by the smokebox"

It sounds like the Weber Smokey Joe Silver would be perfect for you. It is a small grill and perfect for grilling for two people. I have a commercial smoker, a large Weber and the Smokey Joe and when I am just cooking for two or three, I always use the Smokey Joe..

while shopping today, I noticed an electric smoker. Has anyone ever heard of one of those? Seemed odd but actually, when I read the box, it sounds pretty damn easy and painless.
