For good atmosphere, but there might be a wait, hit Chimes and the Varsity right on campus on Highland. You can usually walk in Varsity and get jambalaya or quick food and fast beer service. Probably be a wait at Chimes.
George's Baton Rouge. it'll take a while because it'll be packed, but it's a cool place. right off the interstate (actually underneath the overpass).
Past time is right next to George's. Another good one.

Chime's is excellent. Get the blackened alligator appetizer and drink some craft beer.
You could do as most Cajuns, just pick something up off the side of the road. You know what the say "When in Rome," same applies to Cajun Country. Just don't come back smelling like a corndog.
The Chimes East on Coursey is very good without the wait time that the Chimes near campus will have.
