I think, and it's just speculation, but on one hand I'm not sure how they handled the investigation and how the victim wanted things handled / cooperating. But by that point, I think they knew they were too far behind for multiple reasons (maybe their preferred candidates had already stated they didn't want to get involved with all the issues they have had in recent years?) and decided to play it long to get through signing day. I know several have said that they have heard from agents that the school reached out weeks prior. Wonder if coaches are scared that there is more there like what kept turning up during the Harbaugh years.Quote:
