Big get. And not just because he's a legacy. Kid is legit, and will be young for Class of '26 - so we should have him 3 years.
If he has 2/3 of the glove his dad did then slap #7 on him and let's go. His dad was the reason I wore 7 in intramurals. My favorite baseball player.
Todd, who was the kid from California her this weekend?
Was he 6?7? and a pitcher ?
Will Brick in as well
Another 27 to 26 grad
Catcher out of Tennessee who played in Easleys org
Another good get
Baseball recruiting is en fuego. Technically we could lose most of these prized recruits to the draft but Shirley we hold onto several.
Maybe Hirschcorn from California. Huge if we get him. Instant impact.
Glad to hear it, even though I am still internally raging about UTK, UF, and now UTA.
If nothing else, we should win the press conference when all of these guys are chosen in the first couple rounds. It will be good for perception.
Some of that is baseball culture has changed a lot. The real life changing money in baseball is after you sign your first free agent deal.
Logically, we're not going to get everyone to school more than likely. But we're going to get our share. If we sign 5 top 100 players a class, odds are we are going to keep at least 2-3. If you do that three years in a row, you have 6-9 top 100 players on your team. Sprinkle in a Bryce Chance and add some late bloomers from the portal and you can build a NC contender pretty quickly.
Rhoades and Beliveau I never really felt like were draft risks. Bauer, the Parker bros, and Harmon were the biggest ones. We kept two of them. I didn't feel great about Grindlinger either. I thought he would go pro or flip and he did to Tennessee. Anyway, we signed four top 100 players in our last class and got two of them to school. I thought we had a good chance at Bauer. Jacob Parker I was worried about because of how high his brother was going to be taken. I would have loved it if they wanted to play together in college no matter what, but I'm certainly satisfied with at least getting Jacob.
Our class right now as I type this has Rocco, Will Brick, Wilson Andersen, and Martin Shelar that are elite top 100 prospects. Quincy Bright would have been one had he not gotten hurt and he is an intriguing prospect. Then we have some guys that are really high end players that are in a similar category to Rhodes last year- Dax Hardcastle, Landon Brown, Daniel Nienaber, Noah Danza, and Zach Geertsma. All are really good players and all should end up in school although I could certainly see any of that group blowing up this summer. And we will add to this class this week.
Adding Jensen Hirschkorn to the class would be another top 100 prospect. Hopefully we get him.
We are a Baseball School!
Add Jake Carbaugh, big RHP from Fl in the ‘26 class that was committed to Wake Forest; 10 rating on PG. Maybe this was the big Pitcher that someone saw touring campus this past weekend; he is a big kid, 6’5” 215lb.
RJ Shields P/OF from Fl in the ‘27 class; 9.5 rating on PG.
Coach O will eventually have a SEC starting pitch group who could all 3 be all conference.
When I hear/read ?Coach O??..Orgeron pops into my head.
I'm always excited to watch some Mississippi State baseball. But this year is bringing another level of excitement for me. Can't wait to watch the product that O'Conner is building. We will probably lose some of these guys to the draft but that's gonna happen when you recruit at an elite level.
Also, Im relatively new to the board. Looking forward to interacting with everyone! Been a long time reader. Even tho everyone may not see eye to eye, it's great to see so many people so passionate about Mississippi State. Hail State!
Sorry. I didn't think of that.
